I feel that the picture is a clear reminder of how time flies. We marked a new calendar year just three months back and now, it is already the first day of April. Truly how time flies.....
Story
"Oh how time flies", this was the exact thought that crossed through Miranda's mind as she started at the calendar right next to her make up mirror. The next day was going to be a special day for her family and she was eagerly looking forward to it with high expectations.
It would be April first tomorrow. A day of double celebration. It was her wedding anniversary and also the birthday celebration of her twin children Maxwell and Mirabel. It was always a joyous occasion coupled with the fact that April first marked the April fool's day.
They were allowed to play pranks but on a level that was tolerable and the family was always in a festive mood on that day. Miranda knew that this year's April first would be doubly awesome because it was her ten years anniversary with her husband and also the ten years birthday of her twins.
She had her plans already set and ready to go but she acted like she hadn't lifted a finger. That was going to be her prank on all of them. She wanted to see the look on their faces when they thought that she had forgotten about this awesome day.
The next day......April 01
Miranda woke up to a silent house. "Where is everyone?" She inquired but no response came. Fearing the worst, she rushed out of bed and into the bathroom to check on Dave her husband but he was not there. She then went to children's rooms but all she met were empty beds. "What is really going on?" She kept pondering within herself.
She picked up her phone to make a phone call when she saw the note on the table.
*Honey, I have taken my kids abroad. I can't say when we will be back. Take care of yourself. Don't call the police. We are fine.
Hands shaking, she sat on the nearest chair and began to wonder what went wrong. "Where had she missed it. Was she not a good wife and mother?"
She began to sob quietly at the new twist of event. She decided to prepare herself and go to her in-laws. On arriving there, as soon as stepped into the living area, she heard a loud surprise!
Startled, she looked up only to see the faces of her dear husband, her twins, her parents and her in-laws. She almost fainted from pure joy as her twins came to hug her screaming April fool's!
"You guys played a good prank. I really believed you left me and I came her to ask mom and dad if they were aware of this trip. I never expected that you guys made a well thought out prank. I'm simply glad to see you all here" Miranda said to them.
"Happy anniversary to us honey" Dave came forward with a glass of red wine for her. "Thank you darling" she replied to him and the celebrations kicked off. It was better than she had anticipated.

Miranda was indeed surprised, she thought her husband and children have left her. I like the prank they played on her, it really got her.
