“Well, see, if you ask me, but, see, you don't have to ask because, see, I'mma tell you – I think all of Sister Vanna's popcorns are good, and I just need more!”
Five-year-old Robert Edward Ludlow III was the company bigmouth for his family's business, the Ludlow Bubbly, and was making a strong bid to have the same position in the company next-door neighbor Vanna Trent was thinking of starting.
“You never have to worry about a testimonial with Lil' Robert around – you're going to get that!” Vanna's grandmother Mrs. Velma Stepforth said to her husband, Mr. Thomas Stepforth Sr. said.
“I mean, that boy is who every food company in the country is looking for!” Mr. Stepforth said as he cracked up laughing.
“I sure am!” Lil' Robert said when this was reported to him by Vanna's baby sister eight-year-old Gracie. “Just pay me in food!”
“Well, I mean, there are food critics and mystery shoppers that basically do all that for a living,” Gracie said. “I have this cousin who can definitely get you the hookup.”
“This is good, because, see, I can't get to college until next week, but, I need a summer job and I think it's still summer and that's perfect,” Lil' Robert said. “I've got my times tables and stuff learned so I gotta knock out this division tomorrow, but that doesn't take all day, so, yeah, pay me in food and I'm good!”
Lil' Robert's big sister eleven-year-old Eleanor came with more popcorn.
“Here you go!” she said, handing Lil' Robert another little bowl to go with Gracie's. “Thank your sister again for us, Gracie!”
“Oh, no problem – we're just spreading the love,” Gracie said.
“We can taste it!” Lil' Robert said. “I love caramel corn because its so sticky, but tasty, too, because that sparkle salt is on it!”
“Yeah, Vanna does use a big crunch salt on it,” Gracie said. “It does kinda sparkle when you look at it.”
“I'm telling you, when I get paid in food, I'mma know about all this stuff!” Lil' Robert said. “Next week, though!”
“Yep – he finally started eating because he's quiet,” Gracie and Vanna's eleven-year-old sister Velma Trent said to Eleanor.
“That's your testimonial,” Eleanor said. “Popcorn so good it can make Rob be quiet!”
“The 'shut up and eat' popcorn,” Velma said.
