What I see: a partially flooded street at the curb, full of beautiful autumn leaves
What I feel: that's a hassle, but also, one of the most beautiful sights of autumn
To me, it was the bane of autumn: leaves clogging drains and forcing me to find another place to cross.
To my children, it was a color and light and magic show that they enjoyed all the way down the half-flooded street.
I have decided that they, actually, are right.

I think there are parts of childhood we should not grow out of ... I still love the beauty of autumn leaves even in water in a flooded street ... sometimes we just need to be reminded!
