Housewives

Ladi and Agmoore, the two wives of Late Chief Amadi were best friends who lived at peace with each other even after the demise of their husband. Ladi was the oldest and had suggested chief Amadi marry her friend when she knew his plans of taking a second wife. Agmoore at first had rejected Ladi's proposal until she had convinced her how living with her would be more bearable than seeing a strange woman.

To make work easier for them, Agmoore does the laundry and house chores while Ladi keeps the garden. She often sit on the stairs each time she takes a break from work, panting softly from the heavy work. They both love their job and most especially their friendship.

They lived in Atlas Joma, a small town in the countryside. People who grew there were known for their gangster look, beads and nose earrings, and some gangster character that was displayed in their attitude. All this was what Agmoore had to cope with, coming from a different region entirely where women were more soft. However, Ladi doesn't hesitate to protect her from intimidation.
"You act soft in this street, you wouldn't live for too long" Ladi often tell Agmoore.
"I wonder how those beads will look on me with a gangster dress. It wouldn't fit" she'll reply, making Ladi laugh out loud.

The two housewives lived happily together, promising themselves never to marry again. It became a routine that every Saturday Agmoore do the laundry and Ladi keep the garden, hoping they'd continue in such a manner until they grow frail and old.
