Wake me up
When December ends
I forgot the gifts
I will make amends
Early in the new year
When the fog
Begins to clear
And the bells have ceased
Their jingling
Every
Bloody
Where
I will voluntarily
Awaken
Until then
Just leave me here
Sorry this one isn't very jolly, I'm not much of a Christmas person (just trust me when I say I have reasons). I try to get into the spirit sometimes and every now and then it works but not very reliably 🤷♀️. With a little luck I'll have more Christmas cheer by December 25th so I won't ruin the actual day for any family members who are trying to enjoy it 😅. Putting these feelings into words via poetry can be a good way to deal with them I think.
On a vaguely related note, it just occurred to me that Earth, Wind & Fire and Green Day appear to have almost completely opposite feelings about the month of September. Food for thought...🤔
Peace ☮️.

It is a very expressive poem of the contrariness in the face of the Christmas season. I personally share your emotional state. Thank you and best wishes to you, @elementm.
Thank you! On the bright side, January will be here before we know it. Best wishes to you too ☮️👍

Thanks (and I think Dr. Seuss would have loved that version 😂)!
