I first understood what a ridge was when I saw a war movie, the soldiers had to dig a ridge where they would stay and take cover. They shot from the ridge and took cover when the enemy attacked. Although the ridge was small but it gave me a good idea of what a ridge looks like and since then anytime I hear the word ridge, I think of the movie and scene I saw a ridge.
So going over a ridge can be sporty and dangerous too especially if it involves mountain and hills. You should be careful when you get close to a ridge.
