Picture worth a Thousand Words: The Cold Fox

in Freewriters3 months ago

Just like humans, animals seek comfort when they feel cold. This week's contest, "A Picture worth a Thousand Words," features a fox seeking shelter from the cold weather. It just more than cold. He is actually thinking about the decisions he took lately.

Here's my response to the prompts:

Describe What You See

I see a fox in an abandoned building, comfortably resting on a pumpkin. The building appears to have been used as a Halloween exploration center by kids before.

Describe What You Feel

I feel that it’s rainy and extremely cold, and the fox couldn’t handle the chill. It found refuge in the nearby abandoned building once used for Halloween activities, where it now rests on a pumpkin.

A Story or Poem About What I Think Is Happening

In the town of Peru, there lived a group of five foxes who loved each other deeply. They enjoyed staying together, especially during the cold, rainy days. Their bond kept them warm, no matter how harsh the weather got.

One day, the group of five foxes went out hunting. The oldest fox, who was seen as the leader or "landlord," spotted a prey and tried to catch it, but it escaped. Another fox, determined and resilient, tracked down the prey and finally caught it.

The oldest fox was upset and argued that since he was the one who first saw the prey, he should share it with the fox who captured it. However, the fox who caught the prey refused to share, saying he wouldn’t give up what he worked hard to capture. This caused a big argument among the foxes. The three other foxes sided with the one who caught the prey, leading to a heated disagreement.

Frustrated, the oldest fox, who lived in the abandoned Halloween building, drove them all away because of the conflict. Now, he lives alone in the building, separated from his friends. I call him the "landlord" because he was the one who first brought the other foxes there and took care of them.

Even now, the lonely fox often thinks about his old friends and the argument that drove them apart. He regrets how things turned out but remains alone in his shelter, reflecting on the past.

Life Lessons from the Foxes

1.Be Responsible When Dealing with Others: If the first fox had known better, he wouldn’t have driven his friends away. Now, he’s cold and lonely and will stay that way unless he finds another fox to be with. The second fox could have shared a little bit, even without proof, because sharing brings joy.

2.Learn to Share: Even when times are tough, it’s important to share what we have. The fox who refused to share missed a chance to spread love and unity. Sharing brings people together, and where there’s unity, there’s progress.

Thanks for reading! Have a lovely day, and I’ll be back with more next time!

LOL total opposite of my fox story that I'll be publishing soon :D

This is quite a different view to what I would have thought but uniquely beautiful all the same. And it helps to pass a message which makes everything worthwhile. Well-done.🌺
