It has been six years since Precious grandmother passed away but she still misses her dearly. Her grandmother had been her closest confidant and Precious had spent hours listening to her stories and learning from her wisdom.
One day, while cleaning the house she stumbled on an old box that belonged to her grandmother and she was surprised because she had not seen the box before. She decided to open it, and as she opened it, she found a collection of letters and photographs.
As she opened it, she began to read the letters and found out that it was written by her grandmother's first love, Matthew. The letters were so emotional and romantic and Precious felt she was reading a fairy-tale.
But as she read on, she realized that the story was not a fairly-tale at all. Matthew had gone off to war, and her grandmother was waiting for him but he never returned.
The final letter in the collection was written by Matthew, just before he went into the battlefield. It was a goodbye letter and it was addressed to Precious's grandmother. And the letter says
“My dearest Mary, I am writing to say goodbye, I don't know whether I will return from this war or not but I want you to know that I love you so much and you will always have a place in my heart”.

Precious felt a sharp pain in her heart as she finished reading the letter. She realized that her grandmother had carried the pain of losing her love Matthew with her for the rest of her life but she never let that affect the love she shared with her and others.
