"Prosecute me!" she shouted, standing up and pushing herself forward. Silence fell apon the court and then the woman next to her stood up. "Prosecute me!" she shouted. Jess's face didn't display the emotion of gratitude she felt as all around her women came to their feet shouting the two words. The judge banged his gavel and shouted for order, but the women continued to stand and continued to shout. In the dock, the sorry looking woman - she looked no more than eighteen, thin and grey - was looking up at them all, amazement on her face. "Order!" the judge shouted again. The court officers tried to get the women to sit, but they refused. The judge threw his gavel onto the desk in front of him and stormed out of the court. Jess didn't know if this was a victory, or if it would cause more problems for the young women, or for her and the other protesters. But caught up in the moment: she didn't care.
