Among other things, spartan means:
"Marked by strict self-discipline or self-denial."
Austere, simple or strict, with no luxuries.
"Not particularly comfortable."
How do you become a spartan?
1. Register as an active member of the PSUV (or any other Socialist/Communist party).
2. Get the Carnet de la Patria (or any other illegal identification card created by a government that only tries to protect its citizens by monitoring and controling their every move).
3. Watch only one channel (VTV, or any other government-run news and entertainment source). It will provide you with all the official information you will ever need.
4. Be part of your local "communal council" (or any other system of social control created by the government and run by brainless government slaves),
5. Volunteer for the bolivarian militia (or any other paramilitary group organized by the government to protect the people from an invasion that will never happen and which in the mean time will train terrorizing anyone opposing parasize).
6. Reject all luxuries provided by savage capitalism. Your benevolent government will make it easier by dumping your salary from $hundreds or thousands to $2 in a few years.
7. Start looking for alternatives to all the common things people anywhere else in the world have access to (like three meals a day, snacks, new clothes, toiletry, western medicine, technology, a passport to travel anywhere you want, car, house/apt or any other property that might give you the false impresión that you are independent.
8. Mingle only with other members of the Party so that you can reinforce your convictions and learn alternative vocabulary to justify why you live like a hermit while the leaders of your party live like the kings and emperors of old they so much demonized.

9. Practice the repetition of incoherent things, such as "Iranians are our brothers," "Russia only cares about our wellbeing," "China is just generous," "Cuba is only providing disinterested assistance."
10. Defend publicly other totalitarian regimes, like Iran's or North Korea's, as if you were a naturalized citizen of those nations, even though you would not live there, even if they paid you.
11. Deny history. Deny any good thing from the past. That never happened.
12. Re-Write History. Create new memories of a past that justifies your present or even makes your new spartan life look like a ride on the Love Boat in comparison. Repeat: The past was worse, freedom is slavery, war is peace, Bad Bunny is better than Mozart.
Thanks for your reading
SPARTAN. You can see the details here. This was my entry to @mariannewest and @latino.romano’s 5 Minute Freewrite: Sunday Prompt:
Make sure you visit the Freewrite House!!!

13.- Rat out that relative, friend or neighbor who opposes the government.
That is a good one. It really puts every one to the test. The good thing about this kind of regime is that it allows us to see who is who.
Since they are very good at redefining terms, their ratting out becomes patriotism and anyone's use of common sense becomes treason.
I like your beginning with definitions it's new way of making stories 👍 you always make exciting and new things thank you
Thanks. I had this professor when I started college who taught us the importance of defining words, looking for their etymology, and applying them to seemingly unrelated subjects.
It is a good exercise.
Great my friend 😊 really I learnt more important things with you, I will use this methods and strategy for my writing posts it's honor 😊
Point 6 en pointe! 😝
Our state chief minister did pay revision and people (i mean government employees) are rallying against it.

Wow. That is interesting.
For years I taught passive resistance in college (as part of the history and literature curriculum).
It is a pity that not many people understand the power of non-cooperation and the need of solidarity among exploited groups.
Luckily for you, guys, there is a successful history of passive resistance. I hope those protesting can get the expected results.
People do not need to go wild in the streets to make a government collapse.
I really really want to be encouraging. At least this was funny, albeit in a way it really shouldn't be.
🤗
We have no choice but to try to laugh at this absurd state of things. The light at the end of the never-ending tunnel, well, is hard to see
