If we need food for a person to grow old/up then food + environments is what makes us. Our chemistry is determined by capitalism (or whatever remains the status quo)
that means thoughts and actions treated the same as most reactions/ongoing processes.
our lives are predetermined but only ever felt in the present
Meaning the people who come after will necessarily come from what people/environment produce
before their birth, the next generation exist as disparate elements only to be "compressed" within embryo
so the chemical make up of a fathers sperm for example made it's way, first by being built within the body that depends on these outside factors before continuation during the fertilization process.
this is why improving working conditions is vital to the survival of the species, and also why topics like abortion are controversial.
In fact I could make the argument that people are reflected in the work they produce, meaning as long as the chain of work>grow>reproduce>work remains stable it'll over lap our own bodies reproductive instruments simply through feedback.
Thus the genetic makeup of zygotes will be affected with less and less of a certain type of adaptability. Sex (meiosis) serving as the dominate strategy of multi-cellular life would be less and less affected since the recombination of genes are intrinsic
In fact this could serve as a template for how/why humans within a certain region act the way they do.
