SOME DAYS THAT MARCH

in Freewriters3 years ago (edited)
I wanted to be as unbothered and carefree as possible. No worries, no drama, no panicking, no problem. Nothing at all on this special week. I just wanted everything to be chill and quiet; a peaceful week I guess after long chaotic months. That’s just how I wanted to welcome my birth day, atleast.

So on a beautiful Sunday, I woke up as cheerful as I could. Wait, does this sound pretentious? Lol! I guess. But yes, I actually thought I should be happy, so I did woke up happy. I enjoyed my breakfast and my mother was cooking a delicious lunch. Pretty much a good start of the week.

It started to get gloomy in the middle of the day, and a gloomy day isn’t something I like.

But a play and a cuddle with my dog Butter is already a relief. I had no plans of doing anything productive on this day. I just needed to relax. When to my surprise, I had a visitor. Dane, a friend from my little circle, came for a food delivery!

Bibimbap from my favorite coffee shop in the north, Caja Coffee.

Bibimbap is one of my comfort foods. But since I do not like eating it all by myself, I shared it with my sister and let my parents try it too since they rarely eat these kind of foods and basically eat just fried fish and utan bisaya (boiled vegetables/visayan vegetable soup).

My friend left saying there’ll be more for food for the next few days, so I got excited about what will come next and what these guys are up to. Not really expecting anything, but I am excited about how these people are working things up for me.

So that Monday, while busy at work I left my phone unattended and forgot about what she said. When I checked my phone there were missed calls and texts so I hurried and ran outside to check and I saw her. Today’s menu is my favorite lasagna and garlic bread from Greenwich. I couldn't help but hug her. Well to be honest, my hugs are awkward even to my closest friends cause I am never really that expressive and that makes me the most awkward person in the world (I guess).

Tuesday, I got my comfort food Takoyaki courtesy of my friend Mae. It was the funniest delivery moment I think I will never forget. Not gonna tell the details but it was really funny, at least for me.

Wednesday, my birthday, I got my Carbonara that comes with bread I can toast with garlic from Mary of Lala’s. Oooh it’s really my favorite. I always love pasta and bread that I feel like I live my past life in a place where bread and pasta originated!

Was supposed to eat lunch on the nearby food stall that is an open space but we realized it wasn't a good idea to eat lunch with a scorching heat right above us so we decided to order milktea instead just so we coud celebrate today.

Had to drop by at my friend's house to discuss some plans and she made me another food I won't surely resist. It was like I just ate all day and in the past few days. What a beautiful life to just be able to eat all that you want. I wish I didn't have to worry about these things unlike before. But health is what matters most. But I'm thankful to moments like this where I can allow myself to satisfy my cravings.once in a while, it helps too.

When I went home, I got a cake from my family. This doesnt usually happen except when we were still little. So this is really precious.

Being known, is being loved. These people who always put an effort are the few but the best people in my life. Unfortunately, I am now not good and awkward at snapping photos. I wasn’t able to take a photo of these people who brought me all my favorite foods at work for me to keep. But I always believe that even when I can not always take photos of the best moments, I know the memories are kept in my heart forever.

Despite how I planned this week to be —no expectations or anything, is when God allowed me to be surprised. It has allowed me to just be, let go of every circumstance and embrace the joyful moments life has to offer.

What a beautiful life to live and love.
