Love, that feeling so wonderful and complex at the same time. Within each being there beats different capacities to express and live it.
I know people with generous hearts, who give their love without asking for anything in return. In that they shine, in valuing others above oneself.
I have also noticed those who wander through life more as receivers than givers; always eager to receive love but not used to giving it. Perhaps they had no one to lean on and now find it difficult to return affection.
I don't judge them, because I understand that we all carry wounds from the past. But to these people I would like to say that the best gift is to know how to love unselfishly, like someone who sows so that others may reap.
It is sad to forget the loves we have received, those that saved us in times of need. May we learn to value and return so much good, so that we can heal together. Only love that is given and shared can save the whole world.
