Morning after morning, the same routine.
Locking himself in his office, he opens the top desk drawer and picks up the old revolver.
With trembling hands, he loads a bullet into the revolving barrel.
He points it at his temple, staring at the picture of her, his beloved wife who died years ago. The trigger gives under the pressure of his finger.
"Click.
The bullet hits the barrel without exiting.
He drops the gun, sobbing bitterly.
"Another day without meeting you, my love."
Russian roulette is lost again, postponing their reunion into eternity.
A short piece that captures so much tension and emotion. Everyone handles the passing of loved ones differently. Though the protagonist chooses the roulette to meet his deceased wife, fate has something else in store for him. Beautifully written! 🙂

Thank you for your comment and support, everything has its time and it won't be until it arrives that that revolver will be able to fire or not.
A somewhat dastardly and cowardly way to face the desire to find her. A gloomy and ashen text, ambiguous in its nature: those false desires of wanting to die to find her and the vile act of tempting fate and being able to live, perhaps for fear of the disenchantment of death. "Click." The trigger yields under the pressure of his finger...
There are many beings as grey as the protagonist, so many that it seems impossible to exist.
Nice write up

The protagonist adopted a weird way of handling the lost of his loved one. People handle grieving in different ways but his own approach is strange. All he needed is healing and I hope he acheives that.

Not everyone reacts in the same way to misfortune, and this is one of many.
Wow!!
Indeed people grieve differently, a short story with a deep meaning.
Always a #dreemerforlife
