First Love, just these 2 words and for some people it may be remembered as a sweet memory or a bitter one, cause let's be honest, it's the first time and we don't know what to expect or even do about it! It's a new emotion that is not just ordinary joy, but brings you fulfillment as well!
Let's start with the sweet one, just imagine, looking at that person romantically, being embarassed when talking to him/her, feeling not good enough for that person since you're thinking that they are leagues above you, imagining scenarios that will never happen (but admit it, it does make you happy!), maybe getting the wrong idea with what they do like thinking that it's for you that's why they do this and that, touching their hand by accident and so much more! I can go on and on, but this post may become too long because of it haha! I also had these "butterflies in my stomach" back when I first fell in love and man, was that something that fills you up with joy.
And since I mentioned the sweet part, let's talk about the bitter part and let's start by saying that some people had their first love not being reciprocated or one-sided love, and man, that sucks as I've also experienced that, it's not instant rejection (since I can't confess that time!) but it's feeling it little by little that you really have no chance with that person as they are always showing you that they are not interested, you may think that you just need to try harder, but the more you try, the more they try to reject or show you they are not interested as well. You are crushed, embarrassed, your self esteem being shot down, the feeling that you are not enough and so on. It just sucks....
But overall, your first love may be a sweet memory or a bitter one, and it may have brought you tears or happiness, I think we can agree that this emotion/memory became an important part of our life, a sign of our emotional growth.
And I know you heard the saying "First Love never dies", but I would rather say "Your first love will always hold a special place in your heart."
