You know what happens when life hits hard and pushes you down. In such situations, what would you do? Will you try to get back up or would you push yourself down an incorrigible path?
Nobody asks for misfortune, but the way we act when faced with one is always a good display of the values we hold dear. It also shows the level of intelligence we have.
Take Josh for an example;
When Josh came face to face with a series of catastrophic situations that led to the loss of his job, he became very bitter and resentful and his life from then started to turn into a nightmare. As far as he's concerned, "It sucks to be sacked from a job he contributed so much into".
No doubt, it truly sucks to be in that situation and digging deeper can let us know if it's fair or unfair treatment towards him. However, what Josh did next will blow your mind.
His anger took over him and he completely disconnected himself from the rest of the world. He spent every money he had managed to save up in pubs, drinking from dawn to dusk. After living like that for a few months, he ran out of money and even went ahead to take out loans from friends and family.
The last 6 months have been a living hell for Josh and his debt is crumbling.
He took an already bad situation and made it into the worst possible turn of events by digging a deeper pit for himself. There is no sign of intelligence in his actions.
Could he have done something better?
Yeah! I'm not saying it's easy, but I've seen people who hold onto their integrity even when they are dealing with catastrophic situations and I'm always filled with admiration for them. Josh could have done so many things differently, but he didn't.

I wrote this as an entry to today's edition of 5 minutes freewrite writing prompt.

It takes a lot to bounce back while facing difficult challenges, some people chose to wallow in self pity which does not end until the person decides to wake up, while others see it as a lesson, learn from it and move on with their lives. The way people handle such situation differs depending on how much you have invested in training your mind to withstand such tribulations.
There are worst tribulations than loss of job, believe me I have seen worse but we all have our shares of trouble but the way we handle it is what that matters and count.
Life is not a bed of roses, eventually everyone is bound to face challenges and that is the case with Josh he just chose to remain down instead of finding a way out of it
Self pity or feeling like a victim should not last more than a day or two, the longer it takes, the more difficult it is to Bounce out of it, speaking from experience.
Though people around us can assist us in order to quickly bounce out of it, probably Josh doesn't have such people around him and borrowing him money is not a way out, the worst of it all are those who turn to alcohol to ease their pain, it just make things worst and eventually they become addicted to it.

You always have a very good and hot take on each topic and I like where you said that there are worst catastrophes than the loss of a job. Bro, that's pure fact and it's a pity that some people drag themselves through the mud and push themselves down a deeper hole when they face something that is just trivial.
Loss of a job is a tough experience. That's true. But, I've also faced things that are worse and they happened in quick succession. Haha. I'm still standing tall after all that.
Josh got it wrong with each step he took and it's a pity. However, he's the only one that can save himself from damnation. Self-pity doesn't make any difference when someone is faced with catastrophy. Hehe.

Everybody has their way of reacting to things but that shouldn't be a yardstick for making a bad situation even more worse.
What then happens afterwards, will the worse situation miraculously turn better? It's sad when bad things happen but we should rather learn from it and find ways to make it better instead of worse.

That's the truth. It's understandable that people go through rough and chaotic stuff, but that can never be an excuse to use when they drag themselves down and end up making the worst possible decision.

In my opinion, the way one is raised will determine how one will survive in the day of catastrophe. That is why I encourage parents to train there children accurately so that they won't go haywire when things happen.
Exactly. People tend to underestimate the importance of quality upbringing and like you said, the way someone is trained has so much to do with the type of reaction the person displays when he is faced with catastrophy
