Él nunca había dudado de la fidelidad de ella hasta ese día en que supo lo que supo.
_Salió a almorzar.
Fue la respuesta que le dieron cuando la llamó al trabajo. Era la tercera vez que sucedía eso. A pesar de haberle hecho varias llamadas, su móvil daba timbre pero nunca respondía. No era costumbre que saliera a almorzar a ninguna parte. De manera que empezó a sospechar y contrató los servicios del mejor investigador privado de los alrededores.
_ ¿Y cuánto demora saber?_ preguntó, ansioso.
_ Eso depende de su mujer, pero si está en algo, lo sabremos pronto, deme una semana.
Desembolsó una alta suma de dinero correspondiente a la mitad del pago por el trabajo. La otra parte sería completada cuando tuvierara las conclusiones, no iba a escatimar un centavo, era su tranquilidad y su prestigio los que estaban en juego. Durante la semana, se mantuvo atento a cualquier detalle de su esposa pero no vio nada fuera de lo normal, al contrario, la sintió dulce y cariñosa como en otros tiempos.
_ Creo que estoy paranoico. Quizás todo es obra de mi imaginación_ pensó.
Mientras tanto, el investigador tomó numerosas fotos de ella, del lunes hasta el viernes, almorzando con una amiga en una pizzería. Pasada la semana, el prestigioso investigador le presentó al cliente los resultados de su gestión.
Al fin el inseguro esposo pudo dormir tranquilo. Por su parte, la esposa y el investigador, continuaron disfrutando, ahora sin susto, excelentes jornadas de sexo vespertino.

It wasn’t her habit to go out for lunch anywhere. So, he began to suspect and hired the services of the best private investigator in the area.

He paid a hefty sum, half the fee upfront. The rest would be settled once he received the findings. He wasn’t going to spare a penny—his peace of mind and reputation were at stake. During the week, he watched his wife closely but noticed nothing out of the ordinary. On the contrary, she seemed sweet and affectionate, like in the old days.
Maybe I’m paranoid. Perhaps it’s all in my head he thought.
Meanwhile, the investigator took countless photos of her, from Monday to Friday, having lunch with a friend at a pizzeria. After the week passed, the renowned investigator presented the client with the results of his work.
Finally, the insecure husband could sleep peacefully. As for the wife and the investigator, they continued enjoying excellent afternoon trysts, now without the fear, of getting caught.
