A small, disoriented bat flew into a child's bedroom window one starry night. The frightened little animal fluttered around aimlessly, bumping against the walls.
The boy, far from being frightened, watched the curious winged creature in fascination. With great care, he trapped the bat in a glass jar.
-Don't be afraid, little friend,’ he said gently. I'm not going to hurt you, I just want you to rest until dawn so I can set you free.
The bat, understanding the little bat's good intentions, stayed quietly in his temporary shelter. At dawn, the boy let him go, but not before promising him:
-I will always protect bats and nocturnal animals. You are harmless beings who deserve to live in peace.
From that day on, the boy became a fervent defender of those who, through ignorance, were feared and persecuted. By his example, he taught the importance of respect for all creatures.
Moral: Do not judge or fear those who are different from you. Get to know them first and you will see that everyone deserves a chance.
