In the vast savannah, a majestic lion wandered in search of prey. Suddenly, he spotted a small, solitary porcupine. ‘What a tasty morsel,’ he thought, licking his lips.
Without hesitation, he pounced on the defenceless rodent. But just as he was about to catch it in his jaws, the porcupine shrank into a bristling ball of sharp quills.
The lion, confident, lashed out with his claw, but was painfully surprised when the sharp thorns pierced him. He roared in pain and recoiled in frustration.
After several unsuccessful attempts, he realised that it would not be worth his while to persist. The little creature, though seemingly harmless, was well equipped to defend itself.
Licking his wounds, the big cat retreated in shame, recognising that sometimes true strength lies not in size, but in the cunning to survive.
