What I see:
A young man, doing his duty to wait for someone, no matter the heavy rain, no matter the street conditions, being there ready for anything.
What I feel:
Many times stories and movies are made from the point of view of the passenger boarding an uber, cab or using a chauffeur service, but rarely are they written from the point of view of the experiences of the workers behind the wheel. For a handful of dollars, drivers suffer enormous calamities.
A heavy rain, the tail end of Hurricane Helene, was lashing the city, the cobblestones on the street made the water flow with more flow, making driving much more difficult. Already parked in the place indicated by the client, he had no choice but to take his umbrella and leave the comfort of his car and stand and wait?
In the middle of the rain Chang, a third generation cab driver, his Asian immigrant grandfather, had started with a lot of effort with a cab, now a small company was the axis of the family economy with a certain resignation he thought:
- There will never be an end to mistreatment by customers.... these implausible demands.... because I can't wait inside the car, because this customer doesn't have his own umbrella, not all of us cab drivers are immigrants, I am a citizen and I have rights....
With his fist clenched inside his jacket to contain his rage, he just continued standing there... there will be another day for complaints and justice, for now that handful of dollars that he would receive complemented the amount to be able to feed his family,
- chang repeats to himself: It rains and it pours... the sun always comes out.....

Un joven, cumpliendo su deber de esperar a alguien, no importa la fuerte lluvia, ni las condiciones de la calle, el estar allí listo para lo que sea.
Que siento:
Muchas veces las historias y las películas son hechas desde la óptica del pasajero que aborda un uber, taxi o utiliza un servicio de choferes, pero poca veces se escribe desde la óptica de las vivencias de los trabajadores del volante. Por un puñado de dólares los choferes sufren enormes calamidades.
Una fuerte lluvia, coletazo del huracán Helene, azotaba la ciudad, los adoquines de la calle hacían que el agua fluyera con más caudal, por lo que manejar era mucho más dificultoso. Ya estacionado en el sitio indicado por el cliente, no le quedó más remedio que tomar su paraguas y abandonar la comodidad de su carro y pararse a esperar…
En medio de la lluvia Chang, taxista de tercera generación, su abuelo inmigrante asiático, había con mucho esfuerzo comenzado con un taxi, ahora una pequeña compañía era el eje de la economía familiar con cierta resignación pensaba:
-Nunca se va acabar los malos tratos por parte de los clientes…. estas exigencias inverosímiles…. porque no puedo esperar dentro del auto, porque este cliente no tiene su propio paraguas, no todos los taxista somos inmigrantes, soy un ciudadano y tengo derechos…
Con el puño apretado dentro de la chaqueta para contener su rabia, solo seguía allí parado.. ya habrá otro día para las quejas y la justicia, por lo pronto ese puñado de dólares que recibiría complementaban el monto para poder llevar el alimento a su familia,
-chang se repite para sus adentros: Llueve y escampa… siempre sale el sol…..
Así es la vida, a veces llueve pero con la esperanza que siempre sale el sol.

A different approach to the story from inside the vehicle. Service workers are rarely given credit or respect for their occupations. It doesn't matter where one is an immigrant or not, society's views are the same. The motivation of personal self dignity and desire to attain certain goals for one's self and the family have to replace any negative thoughts. It matters not what others think. Otherwise, a defeated attitude will overtake the worker when attempting to reach one's goals.

Es triste como la gente trata a las personas que tienen ese tipo de trabajos, al final, trabajo es trabajo y punto, lo importante es traer el pan a la casa. Hay clientes de clientes... algunos tienen valores y a otros les encanta maltratar a la gente, pero como "el cliente es primero"... esos trabajos son súper difíciles, yo admiro a quien los aguanta.
