It's been a bit and I keep meaning to make a blog post but not managing it. I've been working through most breaks and lunches lately, which is typically when I manage to work on blog posts. After work is time with the kids and whatever stuff we need to do which usually leaves it 10pm or later before I actually get any time to myself and by then I'm a braindead zombie half the time.

Life is going well however. The kids (7mo, 4, and 6) are all doing great. The two eldest kids have 3 birthdays to go to in the next week, which will be a ton of fun for them. They're also finally old enough to be dropped off at parties, so it gives my wife and I a chance to just have the baby to look after for a few hours and that's a huge blessing.

I've continued to use Obsidian a lot in my day-to-day life. I've even got 4 folks on my team at work using it to keep their work-related notes in it. At home, I'm using it for tracking my #trothguard dnd stuff, my personal notes and other non-D&D ttrpgs, and a game of Starforged. Because it has so many plugins available each Vault instance can be really well suited to its own niche, and since those plugins are just developed in Javascript and/or Typescript, it means I finally might have a real reason to port my Java-based NPC generator over to JS/TS. If I made it into an Obsidian plugin, it would mean that one of the few things I still need outside tools for when running my game would be integrated and available, and that would ensure I'm never out of options when looking for an NPC on the fly.

That said, the next thing on my immediate plate is probably going to be creating a quick program to take the tax/transaction file from HIVE and convert it to the universal upload csv that Coinly likes, since it's tax season in Canada and I've got now just 22 days to get all of that done and I'd really prefer to avoid doing it by hand (again).

We'll see how it goes. If the process is simple enough I might offer it up as a tool to use for other folks here who also go through coinly for tax bullshit.
