September Retrospective

It's a new month! I love October, as it's the month that contains Halloween, which is definitely my favorite holiday. But, today I want to look back at the past month. I haven't been terribly active on HIVE this month, but real life things are slowly returning to a more regular pace and I suspect that's going to lead me to being able to spend more time writing which will be nice!

So, on the new posts front, I only managed to post 3 actual blogs. They were all pretty beefy, but it's a decidedly lower output than I'd like. I did get to post a lot of memes on InLeo Threads however and that was quite enjoyable even if I didn't have more time those days.

The main blogs I managed were mostly focused on Knave 2e, and I have a lot of thoughts I need to compile into a sensible post on that front. It's a really fun ttrpg, and it works fairly well for solo but there are a few things I have complaints about and that I want to try my hand at reworking so it fits my needs more seamlessly.

My newest daughter is two months old and we are settling into a great routine with the 3 kids, so that's been wonderful. My wife being off work for mat leave has meant we've managed to do a lot of much needed organization and cleanup around the house that between her being pregnant and me recovering from surgeries, had been left on a back burner.

I managed to power up at least 1 HIVE every day for the month which earned me the Power Up Month badge and a total of around 80HP higher than I was. Nothing special but it's progress which is nice!

I'm going to try and keep up daily power ups through this month as well, but we will see haha, it was surprisingly hard to remember to log in and complete a power up for every single day and I nearly missed the time window a few times so I'm not promising myself that it'll end up another success.

It's also hockey season and skating season, which my 3yo and 6yo are just starting and so far really enjoying. It's a busy time of year in that regard but I love the rink and watching the kids enjoy themselves on the ice so it's not a dreaded kind of busy, if that makes sense.

In this past month ive also completed reading four books: book 4 and 5 of the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, and then Children of Ruin and Children of Memory from the Children of Time trilogy. They've been fantastic reads, and I'm looking forward to busting into book 6 of Dungeon Crawler Carl in the next couple of days. From the speed that I crushed through the first 5 in that series I suspect I'll be off looking for another series to jump into by next week. It's been really enjoyable and I keep meaning to write up my thoughts about the worldbuilding of that series... And the Children of Time series as well for that matter!

Speaking of future content, while I know the viewer bass for it is basically just me on the chain, I'm going to start recording and posting to 3speak some solo ttrpg sessions. It never hurts for us to have a diverse range of videos, and it's what I enjoy the most.

I think that's it for me today, a bit of a rambling look at this prior month and some future plans, so thanks to anyone who made it this far. I hope to have a more interesting post again later this week.
