We found a hornworm at the park/playground yesterday and I thought I'd snap some photos!
They're not uncommon here, but I rarely get to see these guys, and the kids had never seen one before so it was a neat critter to find!
The silly thing kept trying to dive into the sandbox which would have definitely meant it would die so I relocated it twice, not wanting kids to find a squishy four inch long dead caterpillar tomorrow.
I'm officially done my last day of Parental Leave, which was Friday so it's back to the work grind for me on Monday, and then my eldest goes into grade 1 on the 3rd. It's been a great five weeks off with the kids and the newborn.
We visited my office yesterday since the whole team was in for our once-per-monh day in office and I wanted to introduce them to the newborn. My boss made a really cool laser-etched wood plaque for her and the team was more than happy to have an hour or so of distraction.
And to cap the day off, we had a massive thunderstorm at about midnight. I took a bit of a video, so these are stills from that.
