Beyond an image - A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words - 7/16/2022

The saying goes: "a picture says more than a thousand words", this image speaks to me and transports me to Ukraine, it conveys a feeling of abandonment on the part of the girls who have had to leave their homes and those who are still in the territory besieged by war weapons.

I also remembered a song from my childhood that made me cry, I think it was called "the ugly doll" and it was about the abandonment of toys, either because they have deteriorated or because the children simply became teenagers.

I once read a school story about a poor girl and her doll whose classmates made her life impossible, to the point of burning her doll. As punishment, the teacher forced them to write a whole notebook with the word "forgiveness", when they finished, she made them erase each of the Scythian words in those notebooks and as you can imagine, the pages deteriorated and the children told the teacher, who tenderly said to them:

-My children, as well as those notebooks will never be as before, it gets the heart of a person who has been mistreated...

Ya hoy ni en las escuelas la utilizan. Para mi es muy emotiva...

Tienes razón, esas muñecas hablan de Ucrania.
Yo lo vi diferente. Lo asocié con algunas de las esquinas llenas de basura de Caracas, que cuando pasan a recogerla dejan algunos desechos.
