Time passed, and we discerned each of the evidences found, but the investigation did not yield any answer as to who or who was involved in the death of that young woman found half-naked, lying in that lonely alley. We had organic evidence with no possibility of analysis.
I'm still waiting for a miracle.
I had to find against whom to prosecute or close the case. This was my last case; in a year I would retire, and I didn't want to leave any loose ends.
New advances in organic samples research.
Just a month ago, news arrived of the possibility of analyzing organic samples and cross-checking them with a database; we decided to travel with the organic evidence and determine who the DNA belonged to. The cards were on the table.
Suspect.
The police interviews with passers-by, with the bums in the area, were not conclusive. There were suspicions, but we had no certain evidence to prosecute.
DNA police result.
Three days ago the results arrived, we had the name we had been waiting for; the culprit had finally appeared. <>.
Police Action.
We impatiently searched the police records of several States and hallelujah, an address gave us the location of the antisocial. Immediately to the patrol cars..... Arriving at the suspect's house, we met his family, but bad news, the suspect had been killed in a car crash. We were able to verify this in local records. Divine justice came before us.
Stockholm Prize in Criminology
Today, I have been retired with honors, and we won the Stockholm Prize in Criminology. Strolling down this corridor, in my wheelchair; I remember the hours invested during these past two years. Justice has been done.
