In the month of September, many of the world’s greatest scientists, philanthropists, and leaders remain a little worried. This is because the Nobel Prize is announced in Sweden in the first week of October. And all of them are thinking, hoping that maybe this time it will be my turn. But in my humble opinion, most of them don’t deserve the Nobel Prize.
But are these Nobel Prizes really going to the right people? I know a woman who won this award. Now she is working against the same principle that won her this award.
Now we all know that Alfred Nobel, the Nobel Prize, has been awarded every year since the beginning of the twentieth century to people who have made unique contributions to the development of humanity in six categories. But is that really so?
Some of these categories are fine like Physics, Chemistry, Economics, and Medicine. But when I see people in the list of World Peace and Literature, I feel sorry for the deserving ones left out, and the selected winners got this coveted prize based on political reasons.
But when I see the people included in the list, I think that today Alfred Nobel’s soul must be rolling in his grave.
This year also, we will have more people who will get these awards. But I have started to believe that after receiving the award, their true colors come to light. I am not saying this about the winners in scientific fields, but most social workers and leaders nominated in the PEACE category probably do it for their own peace and glorify them in their vested interests.
I can give you examples of leaders nominated in the Peace Prize category who were responsible for starting wars that killed thousands, left millions homeless, and caused millions of children to lose their parents. I would never support some of these winners even if they got the nod of selectors, as they didn’t deserve this prize. Maybe they should start a new category that fits such people better, and then Alfred Nobel and I will probably rest peacefully.
Prompt word Nobel Prize by @mariannewest
I totally agree with the point you have raised here. Some of the award winners in past didn’t do anything they were known for after being awarded. It makes the mass people to think about visionary capability of the jury board of Nobel prize. Yes, it's true that people may change by the time and the Nobel prize authority doesn’t have much to do with it. But yet, to make the prize more valuable to us, they should take some necessary steps or reorganize the policy to select a person.
Well written. Love to read it. ❤️
Thanks, That's how I feel when I see the winners doing nothing for what they got their award and reward that comes with it!
