They shined like jewels on display, it was a temptation not to rob them of a piece a day— after all, who would even think about looking for a tiny bit of canape from the many more that were to be made. Little did Mr. Mortimer the Mouse thought though that this would be the last of his sneaking as he was quickly swiped from his prize.
“Another case solved!” Noir had almost chirped, ruffling his ebony feathers in delight as he couldn’t help but also inquire, “How did you know it was the mouse who was sneaking out your human’s food?”
“I didn’t.” Purroit had drawled nonchalantly, cleaning in-between the claws of his paw, “But think of it as hitting two birds with one stone.” Then he purred, almost smugly.
