No more civilization would mean no more people. I don't hold with setting people so apart from all other living things. We are as much a growth of this planet as grass or ants or tigers or the dinosaurs before. The dinosaurs died out. I don't know if I believe civilization belongs to humans alone. I think maybe we underrate other living creatures. I know, I know, we are exceptionally intelligent, we have written language, that's really our big thing, and it is a big thing. But in thinking so big of ourselves, we think small of others. And I think that has been problematic for the planet, it has been problematic for anyone thought of as small or less than human. But okay, so it's a major problem that we people dehumanize others, yes. But what I think may be the bigger problem is that we so overly value humanness. I think we've lost our connection to being earthly beings on par with all other earthly beings. And in setting ourselves so apart, we have this mindset of domination that then extends to other people, usually people who are more connected with the land than the ones doing the colonization and empire building and all that nonsense. So yes, we should not dehumanize anyone. But also we should not glorify humanness above all else. I guess this kind of thinking is in line with eco-consciousness or there's some other term for it. Earth something...animal something. I don't remember. We touched on this in my English 696 class last semester. Eco something.

Greetings
I believe that to keep this connection to nature, a trip to the rural area of the week has tremendously helped me.
Your vision is aligned to mine and many people.
Embracing our connection to nature can lead to a more harmonious existence.
