Good day to all my lovely readers hope we are all doing great and the weekend is waving, how time flies, and it's almost Christmas ๐ have you wrapped my gift already? ๐
This story of mine is somewhat real life but not mine it was based only on my observation and the stories that I heard from others and also by her. I am not that " back biter " but I'm not the only one who noticed her ways. That is why I was curious about her and what's on her mind. This is her story as I step into her life.
I was looking for work near our home town because I was exhausted from city life. It was easy for me to be just a distance away from my family rather than working far from home. I already have 2 children a boy and a girl they're very close to me and I would give it all to them no matter what. I have a loving and supportive husband and for now, he has no work that is why I need to be employed as soon as possible. It was a day before my interview. I need to look good and beautiful so that they will hire me right away. By the way, I am Ava, 27 years old, the eldest in the family and I love shoes and bags. I have a sister who is getting married to a foreigner which is an American and my other sister is working in a known company and have a big salary. I graduated in Accountancy but haven't passed the licensure exam I need to prove myself that even I'm not a licensed CPA I can do my job well. It's time for my interview.
" Miss Ava Torre, are you single or married? because you haven't included it on your CV." the interviewer asked.
" I am single maam and I am an accountancy graduate, I think is that what you are looking for," Ava told the interviewer.
" Well we need a CPA right now but you have not yet given your license no here." the interviewer.
" Maam I know that but I have just taken my exam last month and I have to process it, but I need this job, no worries maam if ever I get my license I will give it to you." Ava pleaded.
" Well, I think you will be qualified for this because you have good grades and your training is good, just make sure to follow your license if you have it." the interviewer said.
" Thank you, ma'am, I promise ma'am I will send it to you. When will I start?" Ava said with confidence.
I and Ava were close before, and this story is what she said to me, she was hired a year before me. She was nice in my observation, she is friendly, well dress ( kung tanawon jud mura siyag manager) talks a lot and she is pretty, she likes branded shoes, bags let say all she likes is branded. In a workplace environment we can't please everybody there are always people who will like you and dislike you and in that case. She was like and then, later on, dislike it's because of some reasons.
Her ambition was granted, she became the Junior Accountant it was a good feeling to her that she was trusted to be one. In her mind, if the Senior Accountant will retire she will move up. I was happy for her and fascinated by her positive attitude. But one thing in my mind she lied about her status and she is not a licensed CPA. In a year that we've been friends I saw her up and down, the struggle in her family life and work but she handled it with confidence. One day the Human Resource called her attention to settle her CPA license and have a photocopy of her marriage certificate. That time she slowly change.
"Ava how are you, why are you absent this past few days?" I ask her.
" Why you bother! I'm not well that's all!" she answered with a strong voice.
" I was just concerned about you because you're my friend, and I heard that you went to an OB-Gyne, are you pregnant? well, I'm happy for you!"
I told her with excitement.
" News spread fast in here, so what if I'm pregnant?! will you feed my family?" Ava said.
" Why are you acting like that Ava? I thought we are friends." I was shocked by her reaction.
" I don't need friends here I can handle myself." She said to me.
After that incident, I never spoke to her anymore. I was hurt because in me I have a friend since I was new then and she was my friend since I started my job. But she ended it on that day. I thought I already knew her but I was wrong, I have heard stories about her at firsts I don't believe them but as I observe later on the truth came out.

Part 2
After what she said to me that day, I thought she is right, she can handle herself. I let her be, I heard from my co-employee that she wasn't pregnant and maybe she is just telling stories to pity her. I don't believe all my co-employee is telling me I was thinking that she is pregnant and had a miscarriage. I felt sorry for her because she is always the topic of some employees whenever we have a lunch break.
Ava slowly revealed her true face, I was blinded by her charms when we're together before. Years pass, I gain a new friends in our department they are nice and I can feel that they are much trusted. One day there was a big movement in our line of duties it's because our Senior Accountant and also our Supervisor is leaving, she will be migrating to New Zealand many rumors came out and who will be the next in line. Ava was confident that she will get the position, she never knew that there is already a person who intended to do that. When she knew about it she went to HR and the Manager.
"I was supposed to be next in line, not Sharon, she was from the other department and how come that she will be our Supervisor? I know the work than her!" she was unhappy and anger in her face.
The management explained to her that Sharon is much capable than her, she might not be a CPA but she knows the work well and she is more senior than Ava. The management told Ava that many years passed since she haven't summited her CPA license. In our department, we all are shocked by what happened but we just followed the management so far our work was organized by our new Supervisor.
Ava was different after that, she never talked to anyone in our department. She seeks some friends to other department and makes up stories about us, in other words, she gossips most of the time than working and she never respects our head. Then news came out, she was having an affair with the supervisor in the other department. I can't believe what I've heard, they must be making that up to make her look bad and unethical, knowing that she has her own family.
The worst part came and she shows that she have an affair.
"Why will I be ashamed, it's normal in here, somebody did it before why can't I!" she said to us with pride.
"I can do what I want, the management can not do anything about it, just say whatever you wanted to say I don't care" Ava was strongly standing on what she is fighting for.
I can see that it's because all that she was expecting wasn't fulfilled according to her plan which is why she is acting like that. Stories and rumors are everywhere the ambiances of the whole office weren't good anymore they say it brought bad luck to our office. I can say maybe it was a stroke of bad luck because our General Manager has health problems. Ava never stopped, she shows to all that they are lovers they eat together, and if Ava has free time she goes over to the supervisors' table and sited just doing nothing. No one can't give sanctions, they just let them do what they want it is like we are all falling from a spell that Ava made.
It was 2016, there was a tragedy that shock every one of us. There was a car crash and Ava, our company drive and one of the cashiers from the other department was involved. It was the worst time for the entire office because our company driver died, the cashier and Ava were critical. All of us don't know what to do at that time some are crying and can't focus on their work. Stories came out before they live that morning.
Ava wasn't supposed to be on that trip because it was a morning routine for the cashier to go to the other branches to collect deposits from yesterday's transaction. Ava's trip was different, she needs to get the signature from one of our Bord and she was instructed to commute. But Ava insisted to ride with them because it is just a distance away from the Branch Office. Before they went back to the main office the driver talk to Ava that he would not be going to fetch her because they need to go back immediately due to the cash they collected. But Ava insisted again because it was difficult to find a ride there, the driver fetch her then they headed to the main office then the crash happened.

Part 3
A guy is running outside and shouting that there was a car crash and 3 person was critical and it was employed in our office, all employees asking each other who would that be then there was a phone call from the other department confirmed that it is them. We saw an ambulance passing our office back and forth we knew that it was them, we cried and prayed that they will be revived because the head of the Ranger was smashed due to the impact and no one could ever survive in that situation. Our Supervisor went to the hospital to assist and arrange all that is needed to make everything fast. As she (the supervisor) arrives at the Provincial Hospital she saw Ava lifted out from the ambulance and headed to the Emergency Room. Ava was full of blood from the face down to her belly.
"Is there somebody with this patient?" the attendant asked.
"I'm her co-employee, I will look after her for a while because the family is not informed yet," the supervisor said.
This is what our supervisor told us the time that she was there for Ava
Ava was unconscious, the nurses cleaned her while waiting for the transfer to Davao Hospital, Sharon (supervisor)is worried, Ava needs immediate care she needs to be transferred to a bigger and more equipped hospital. Then Sharon heard Ava moan and a bit hysterical she went over to see Ava and told Ava that she will be fine the Doctors are taking care of her. The ambulance arrived and Ava was transferred to Davao Hospital, Sharon accompanied her until Ava's family came. Unfortunately, our company driver died during the travel to Davao and our cashier also transfer to Davao and have fractured ribs. All the expenses were shouldered by the office also the food and allowance of their family (who are in the hospital). The burial pass and they are still at the hospital recovering.
It was a month of silence, some of our co-employee are visiting Ava and Lorna(cashier) at the hospital (they are in the same hospital but different rooms)
This story is from Lorna after she recovers.
"I need to transfer a room, this room is too expensive and I can no longer afford it," Lorna told her family
"But Ma, the manager told us that they are paying for your bills." Lorna's son reminded her.
"No it's not right, I think it's enough, the office paid too much for my experience and we are here in a private hospital and a private room, and besides I think I can rest at home now its almost a month, is Ava still here?" Lorna told her son.
Ava was having a slight memory gap due to her head injury, the Doctor told our Manager that there is still a blood clot and it will be fine in a process of medication and she will be having a monthly MRI. Ava was not allowed to have many visitors only her immediate family and our Manager. Lorna was discharged and Ava was still at the hospital in a private room. The management still provides the allowances of her family and Ava. One day the Management visited Ava and they saw that Ava is doing well but with a little bit off when she talks but her physically she is fine. The Manager noticed that the room was filled with food and it seems that she is having a party and saw some shopping bags placed over the couch.
"How are you, Ava? I think you are recovering fast, do you know me?" the Manager said
"Yes ma'am I recognize you, you're our manager," Ava told her.
" Well that's good, I just talked to your doctor about your condition, he said that you can continue your recovery at home and you can come over just for your MRI and check up." the Manager said to Ava.
"Maam I feel dizzy now, can we talk some other time?" Ava told the Manager.
"Okay, I will live now and take some rest, hope you will be fine." The Manager went out.
As the manager walked to the hallway she forgets to ask something to Ava's mother, and she went back to the room, as she opened the room she saw Ava holding a cellphone and was sitting straight. Ava was a bit surprised and then put aside her cellphone.
"I forgot to tell your mother that we need to have the receipt of all your expenses for us to liquidate to the accounting department." the manager said then left.
As the Manager told us about that incident I think that Ava is just pretending that she is not well and the management also thought about it. After the liquidation happened the management never give money to Ava's mother, then they are discharged from the hospital and the bill was almost 500 thousand. Ava's check up's and MRIs are still being shoulder by the management.
While Ava's absent from the office there are lots of stories that came out. Some say that the allowances given to Ava's family were lavishly spent and the money that they received is not enough.
Using a cellphone is forbidden to Ava for a while but Ava was always using a cellphone and always calling her lover at the office. The worst news that we heard is that Lorna ask Ava.
" Have you ever thanked the people who helped you? especially Sharon who is there at your side" Lorna asks Ava.
" Well, why should I, the management ordered them to look after me, I did not oblige them," replied Ava to Lorna.
Lorna told us how ungrateful Ava was, and the money that they spent was supposed to be one-fourth of the expenses will be shouldered by Ava but she refuses to pay for it. After a few months Ava return to work, we thought the incident would change her but it became worst, she walks with pride as if no one could ever touch her. Yes she's right, Ava is untouchable the management could not fire her because of so many reasons they only did is they lessened the workload that she had before and for which it was a triumph because she is compensated well with less effort. Ava and the supervisor from the other department continue their affair (everyone knows already). Ava is still working up to present but doing nothing, she is in our department but none of us talking to her even if she tried no one will listen to her.
Final thought
I thought that this could only happen in a movie. Ava's life as I see is frustrating, she aims too high but in the end, she is still crawling in the mud. As I see her now I pity her and I was thinking what is it she was thinking every day that she is so silent and only her eyes move around. How can she be like that the whole day, she came early and go home past our time. Until now she like that sometimes we are afraid that she might do something to us.
