The Christmas Eve. A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words.

What do you see: I see a young lady holding a Christmas tree on a busy street that is full of snow.

What do you feel: I think that this is on a Christmas eve. Everyone is busy getting one thing or the other in preparation for Christmas celebration.

My Story:
“Anne, when are you going home? You should have been home now to prepare with your family for Christmas.” Those words came out of Juliet’s mouth as she beheld Anne relaxing on the hostel bunk without any preparation for going home. Juliet and Anna are roommates in the University.

About a week earlier, the school authority announced a vacation for the students to go and prepare for their Christmas holidays. Many of the students had departed the hostels to get to their various homes. But Anne and Juliet were still around with a few other students. Juliet was waiting for her mom who usually comes to take her home anytime she has a vacation.

“Never mind! I'm waiting for Johnson. He promised to bring me a Christmas tree. I want to take that home with me. Don't bother much because my stuff has already been packed in my little bag. Or, are you not happy that I'm keeping you company till your mom comes to pick you home? You are pretending as if you could stay in this hostel alone.” answered Anne as they both laughed.

A few hours later, Juliet’s mom arrived in her car. Not quite long, Johnson came in with the Christmas tree. Juliet’s mom offered to give Anne a ride half way home.

Anne had to trek some distances along the street which was covered with snow. She had the Christmas tree in her hand which caused an uproar from her younger one when she got home. Everyone was happy that Anne not only came home but brought a Christmas tree with her.

Sort:

How thoughtful of Anne to bring a Christmas tree home to her family. She must have known they were without one. The tree must have been a small one for her to travel a long distance pulling it with her hands. In any event, her family was pleased she came home for the school break and brought a gift, which is the spirit of the holiday.

Thanks for sharing this story. Take care.
