A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words/ Contest [ESP - ENG]

This is what I felt when I saw this magnificent image:

And there was Rafa, as his family and friends affectionately call him, it was a rainy Friday afternoon, he was worried, he thought that his father, a man with a very strong character would give him the scolding of the year for not having done his homework well, he had three pending subjects: physics, chemistry and mathematics, he sometimes fell asleep in class and he was even a little rebellious and argumentative.

Rafa did not want to go in because he felt sorry for his academic performance, he was not the best and would not put up with the bullying that his classmates and even some very conductivist teachers could do to him.

For Mr. Rafael Alonso, father of the beloved Rafa, that was the least of the problems, he certainly attended the scheduled meeting but he did not intend to delay much, with much education and firmness he would explain that they had many personal and economic problems and that was why his son had not performed as he used to do, he was to support him in everything and more, just as Rafa did doing housework and working even on weekends in a supermarket.

For that reason Mr. Rafael did not park properly, he only went to get the report card and explain what happened, when they left they went quickly to the hospital to see his wife and the new baby to be born, there was no good prognosis for both, the entire pregnancy was delicate, however, faith was greater, everything would be fine.

Years later Rafa is already a grown man, a recognized successful engineer, he was moving house and found a photograph never seen before, it was kept in his father's briefcase and on the back it said:

This is my precious son, the most exemplary! ❤️

Y ahí estaba Rafa, así le dicen cariñosamente sus familiares y amigos, era una tarde lluviosa de un día viernes en la tarde, estaba preocupado, pensaba que su padre, un señor de carácter muy fuerte le daría la regañiza del año por no haber cumplido bien sus deberes estudiantiles, le habían quedado tres materias pendientes : física, química y matemática, se dormía a veces en clases y hasta un poco rebelde y contestón se había puesto.

Del liceo le habían notificado donde debía hacer acto de presencia con su representante para una reunión con los profesores y directivos del instituto educativo, Rafa no quiso entrar porque le daba mucha pena su desenvolvimiento académico, no era el mejor ni aguantaría el bullying que pudieran hacerle compañeros de estudio y hasta algún profesor muy conductivista.

Para el Señor Rafael Alonso, padre del querido Rafa, ese era el menor de los problemas, ciertamente asistió a la reunión pautada pero no tenía estimado demorarse mucho, con mucha educación y firmeza les explicaría que tenían muchos problemas personales y económicos y que era por eso que su hijo no había rendido como solía hacerlo, el estaba para apoyarle en todo y mas, tal como lo hacía Rafa realizando las labores domésticas y trabajando hasta los fines de semana en un supermarket.

Por ese motivo el Señor Rafael no aparcó correctamente, solo fue a buscar la boleta de notas y explicar lo sucedido, al salir se fueron rápido al hospital a ver a su esposa y la nueva criatura por nacer, no había buen pronóstico para ambas, todo el embarazo fue delicado, sin embargo, la fe era mayor, todo saldría bien.

Años mas tarde Rafa ya es un hombre hecho y derecho, un reconocido ingeniero de éxito, estaba en plan de mudanzas y encontró una fotografía nunca vista, estaba guardada en un maletín de su papá y en el reverso decía:

Éste es mi valioso hijo, ¡el mas ejemplar!.❤️
