My hands move
with gentle wonder to feel
Each texture, soft or smooth
or rough grain.
My nose inhales the seal
Of the morning dew,
I awaken to the aromas
That brighten my senses.
My ears are attuned
to the clear songs of birds
that fill my soul with sweet delight.
The feast of my mouth
Are the flavours I cherish,
While the coffee warms
And lifts the flight of my spirit.
But above all,
My eyes in joy behold
This world with all
Its myriad splendours,
From the golden brushstrokes
Of the sunset to the rainbow.
Blessings on these gifts
That adorn my life!
Through sight, sound and touch
and touch my days are blessed,
In deep gratitude I clothe myself.
