Death
The clock keeps ticking
Life keeps fleeting
A state of urgency
Things we can't get to
It's like watching a burning candle go down
So brief, the lights
Blown away by the winds
Here now, gone then
What's next, you wonder
Then comes the need to solidify
Rifts to close
Chaos to mend
Rivals to settle
Before it stops our heart
How far can we go
To bridge a grudge and bring love back
How much can we prepare
To leave a legacy and go in peace
Death, it keeps calling us.
it is really true that death is inevitable.i love your poem 💗
Death
Remembering
Memorable
Unforgoten
It is amazing that we do feel an urgency as you point out and yet we somehow always put off things that matter too. We're so contradictory.
I like how the poem shifts from moments that are made to seem fleeting and meaningless in the face of implacable death to a desire to make the moments matter, the shift in perspective makes for an interesting contrast.
Great poem, death for everyone is something inevitable, that's what we all human beings have in common, merry christmas☺.
