I wrote this for BCP Prompt - Escapism, a weekly prompt to get the creative juices flowing.

I needed to take a little trip and escape to the beach for this post.. and admire all that beauty.. just sayin. Yes... I am keeping it PG! 😆

Toes In The Sand

I am escaping mentally to the coast
Hitting seventy-two following signpost
Spending my hours as a beach bum
Avoiding such a humdrum conundrum

I'm sitting seaside checkin out the scene
Toes in the sand gotta cool one in hand
All these beautiful girls must be a dream
Living life one day at a time unplanned

Scoping the sights strolling up the beach
A chef's kiss to the creator of that peach
Gotta watch myself and stay outta trouble
A shame I have to pop this dream bubble

Now I have to come back to reality
My trance is done no sights to see
Pluckin away at rhymes key to key
Back at Hive writing some poetry

I was reliving my last trip to Siesta Key Beach.. best sands in Florida. I used to live there, and I miss it lolz. 😄 I made the prompt this week, figured it is good policy to write for it as well.

awesome, I lived in Pensacola for a year and the white sand and could go in the ocean neck deep and see your toes wiggle clearly!

I liked this piece a lot! Reading it was no humdrum conundrum lol. The humor you use, as well as the rhyming of the stanzas, made it evocative of some kind of hymn one would sing internally while walking towards the warm sand, anticipating the joys to be had once destination was reached... Only to find out it was a daydream! Thanks for the smile!

Awesome, thanks very much! 😃 Yes.. I threw a few memories of past trips to the sands.. haven't been in quite some time. I've been on the dark side for awhile and figured why not enjoy some sunshine, even in a day dream.

Very cool poem my friend, sometimes I would like to be like you but in this case in a river or a waterfall than on the beach, because I am more adventurous, here in my country Venezuela there are some beautiful beaches that you would fall in love with them, although I would accompany you to the beach for a few beers xD thanks for sharing friend, hug ♥
