This second poem in the emotional landscapes series is inspired by my life-long struggles with depression and anxiety. I truly believe that writing can be cathartic while providing insights that can help people who have/are undergoing similar struggles.
Boiling beneath the surface of most depressive states are core unresolved emotions - often fear, sadness or anger. Unaddressed these feelings can fester and amplify into anxious mind-states, much like a constant bubbling lake of magma burning underneath.
It is my hope that through sharing poetic expressions on how it felt when my thoughts used to take me over, others will be able to gain some insight and control over their 'busy' thoughts. It is only when we shine a light on these things that solutions/realisations become clear. If you have enjoyed this poem, please do check out my homepage @raj808 for similar content. Thank you.

Great poem as always my friend, that happens to all of us, we just have to have the courage to face those moments of anxiety and decay although it is easy to write it than to do it xD, a hug my friend.
Wise words Jose. That is the issue at the heart of mental health for sure.
In fact I'd go as far as to say that people with bad depression/anxiety simply aren't capable, at that point in their lives, to make this distinction. They're not able to face the demons, often they need help to face what they can't let go of in their past, or what they fear in their future. I've been in that state and it isn't easy to find the tools to get out of that fearful state of mind, but when you do, well worth the journey.
It's funny, but I just finished writing my poem and post to go out later today and it is about time, and how identification with past/future often holds us back. Associations running away with my maybe 😂
Thanks, as always, for your thoughtful comment Jose 🙂
