Gosh, we consciously connect again!
Have you heard of the doomsday clock? It's what got me writing this poem. Both a symbolic and literal midnight. What do we do in the last seconds?
It's so easy to feel helpless. My empathy indeed HURT this week .. thinking became FEELING into blackness and the hurt I describe was genuine.
Here in Australia there was not only news of war but terrible flooding, which is still happening. The thought of Ukrainians in basements and Australians on rooftops was an incredible image to work with and I hope I conveyed that in my poem.
Desperate, sad times... There seems a lot of poetry this week as we feel through this mess.
Wow, I have been so busy that honestly I wasn't informed about the floodings in Australia, what a devastating picture of it! I'm am sorry, I hope that authorities and the communities are joining forces to help those in need who have lost so much.
I would say that I will pray for everyone but I am not a religious person, although certainly I wish for all of those in suffering to find their way of healing.
I just googled about the doomsday clock and I can understand widely your inspiration and meaning, so thanks for the explanation.
As you say, let's change our surroundings as we can so maybe we could shape a better future and endure what's next to come.
A big hug @riverflows, take care.
To be honest not sure what authorities are doing.. events at this scale mean it's hard to respond to all calls. I've had to switch off news to take care of myself. At first it was as the poem said . Consoling myself with daily chores... Now I feel better as I am focussing on what matters in the now. Big hugs!!
