Our Existence

I hesitant,
my back against the wall,
this anchor, grounding me,
and yet, I do not know where to begin,
to let myself sink down,
to let it all slip away.
My arms outstretched, the universe at play.

I surrender,
as everything around me, fades out,
like stencils, etched within the shadows,
our expectations, finally laid to rest.
familiar skies, draw our attention,
silhouettes, of giants,
dance in the corner of my eye.
So,
I step off,
all things familiar, a distant dream,
shards of reality, distort my visions
and I bare witness,
until,
finally I see,
twisted images,
that hold the truth of our existence.

All Words and images are mine. I find it difficult sometimes to find photos that represent my words, my poetry, so I chose two photos that I took today, on my way home from work. Photos which represent my day. I would love one day to get all my poetry together and release a poetry book, with some images. Perhaps I'll start doing collages, as I would quite like to create the images, that go along with my words. So watch this space.

I very much appreciate your poetry, @trucklife-family, and your idea to create a poetry book with photos sounds great! Collages can be fun too! Happy Sunday! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I enjoyed the theme of surrender in this poem and the way the final two lines hit. It was a nice way to bring about the ending revelation. I feel that a lot of beauty is revealed by our flaws.

I've always wanted to write a poetry book as well. I think having your own personal photos is awesome as well. I started making collections on peakd of poems that I'd want to include. That might be a good way to start.

Thanks for being a great member of blockchain poets.

Wow, I love your poem. It kind of speaks a million things to me at the same time. Thank you for writing it. ❤️

I love how you navigates the tension between the safety of familiarity and the allure of new possibilities.
