RE: Out There, In Here

Heavy words there my friend.

The feeling of being incomplete, half way through a long race and not placing competitively. The vision of a better you having chosen better and enjoying the victory we can’t seem to snatch from the jaws of defeat.

All pleasantly distracting but fruitless. This is now and is all their is save suffering the past or fearing the firmest of the future.

We are the ones worth being or being with and we are more so with each passing day.

Sort:

We are the ones worth being or being with and we are more so with each passing day.

Yet, I feel that we only deserve it if we are actively trying to improve ourselves. If we sit back and degrade by choice, are we still worth the effort?

I think it is more inevitable than it is a choice. We just get to choose how much to fight it and squeeze that extra bit of progress and joy. We are all worth the effort.

I am noticing more and more that people want effort put into them, they want opportunity, but aren't necessarily willing to put effort into themselves. At some point, the effort should go to those who not just want it, but also will value it enough to add to it

True. The number of times I meet someone half way and just stand there alone can get discouraging. I just appreciate having people disqualify themselves early so I don't have to feel bad not pouring any care on them in the future. Ain't nobody got time for that!

there is likely a pareto principle in play, where we spend 80 percent of our time, trying to satisfy 20 percent of the people, even if they aren't the ones we should be putting our energy into.
