After all these months traveling alone in my country Argentina, I already have everything well trained. I'm no longer afraid to go to an unknown place if I feel it is safe, I already know how to pack my backpack for every time I have to move and I even know what efficient shopping to do at the supermarket every time I arrive at the place that will be my home during that time. All these issues are already flowing naturally, but there is still something that I can't solve while traveling alone and that is the question of the pictures of myself in all those cool places 😅.
Después de todos estos meses viajando sola por mi país Argentina, ya tengo todo bastante entrenado. Ya no me da miedo ir a algún lugar desconocido si siento que es seguro, ya tengo bien en claro como armar mi mochila para cada vez que me tengo que mover de lugar e incluso ya sé que compras eficientes hacer en el supermercado cada vez que llego al lugar que durante ese tiempo será mi casa. Todas esas cuestiones ya fluyen con naturalidad, pero todavía hay algo que no puedo solucionar mientras viajo sola y es la cuestión de las fotos de mí misma en todos esos lugares geniales 😅.
As of today, my cell phone is full of photos of landscapes and places I visited, which little by little are being transformed into posts for my blog. All this time here made me develop my sense of what is "blogable", so I have a lot of material to write about. I also learned some basics of landscape photography, and to make sure I have the best postcards, I take several photos and then select the best ones. I don't currently have a late model cell phone, but I think the images with this camera are pretty decent 💕.
Para el día de la fecha, mi celular está repleto de fotos de paisajes y de lugares que visité, las cuales poco a poco se van transformando en publicaciones para mi blog. Todo este tiempo acá me hizo desarrollar mi sentido de lo que es "blogueable", así que tengo mucho material sobre el cuál escribir. También aprendí algunas cosas básicas de fotografía sobre los paisajes, y para asegurarme de tener las mejores postales, tomo varias fotos para luego seleccionar las mejores. Actualmente no tengo un celular último modelo, pero creo que las imagenes con esta cámara resultan bastante decentes 💕.
However, the problem is when I try to take a picture of myself: every time I want to take a picture of myself with the landscapes in the background it is a real odyssey. In the previous trips I did with my friend, one was the photographer for the other, but now that I'm alone I have to figure it out. I can't always find a companion for the walks and since that doesn't really matter to me, I go out alone anyway. One of the solutions I came up with is to use the selfie camera on my phone, but the quality is very low compared to the main one, plus the auto white focus is horrible. As a result, the photos I can take this way turn out terrible most of the time 😅.
Sin embargo, el problema es cuando intento sacarme una foto a mi misma: cada vez que quiero tener una foto mía con los paisajes de fondo es toda una odisea. En los viajes anteriores que hacía con mi amiga, una le hacía de fotógrafa a la otra, pero ahora que estoy sola tengo que ingeniarmelas. No siempre encuentro algún acompañante para los paseos y como eso no me importa realmente, salgo sola de todas formas. Una de las soluciones que se me ocurrió es usar la cámara selfie de mi teléfono, pero la calidad es muy baja en comparación a la principal, además de que el enfoque automático de blancos es horrible. En consecuencia, las fotos que puedo sacar de esta forma resultan malísimas la mayoría de las veces 😅.

As if that wasn't enough, I'm also a bit shy to ask someone to take my picture and I don't want to just approach a stranger. The times I've done it I've also had bad luck, because although they may have the best intentions, I don't like the pictures they take of me, plus I'm embarrassed to pose in a photo with a stranger. That's why I don't have a souvenir of me in every beautiful place I've been to, but I guess that's the price to pay for the freedom to travel. Luckily, during my walk on the Martial Glacier I met a gentleman who was able to take a nice picture of me. What do you think 😃?
Como si eso fuera poco, también soy un poco tímida como para pedir a alguien que me tome una fotografía y no quiero acercarme así porque sí a algún desconocido. La veces que lo he hecho también tuve mala suerte, porque aunque quizás tengan la mejor intención, las fotos que me sacan no me gustan, además de que me da vergüenza posar en una foto con un desconocido. Es por eso que no tengo un recuerdo mío en cada lugar hermoso en el que estoy, pero supongo que es el precio a pagar por la libertad viajera. Por suerte, durante mi paseo en el Glaciar Martial me encontré con un señor que pudo sacarme una buena foto. ¿Qué les parece 😃?
As a solution to this, my sister recommended that I buy a tripod with a bluetooth device to take the picture. I hadn't thought about this device, but the truth is that it can be quite good. Currently, every time I want to prop my cell phone up somewhere I have to juggle to keep it from falling, and this one seems to solve that problem. Maybe I'll keep it in mind for an upcoming ride, and finally get a good "instagrammable" photo 😅.
Como solución a esto, mi hermana que recomendó comprarme un trípode con un un dispositivo bluetooth para sacar la foto. No había pensado en este artefacto, pero la verdad es que puede ser bastante bueno. Actualmente, cada vez que quiero apoyar mi celular en algún lado tengo que hacer malabares para que no se caiga, y este parece resolver ese problema. Quizás lo tenga en cuenta para algún paseo próximo, y finalmente pueda obtener una buena foto "instragrameable" 😅.

A tripod and phone holder is a great idea, but you can also consider a small drone with a camera.
The locations you visit would be photographed phenomenally with a drone...

We do have but since bought it with a cheap price, not that strong enough to hold against the wind 🤣.
So ended up asking some tourist to take photos of us. (Even though I am shy)
Uuuf the wind is an issue, you run the risk of dropping the tripod and damaging your cell phone hahaha. I hadn't thought about it.

Jajajaja, ¡te entiendo perfectamente! Me ha pasado, pero yo no soy tímida para pedirle a un desconocido que me haga fotos, y también cuando he visto a alguien sólo, le pregunto si quiere foto jeje.
La mayoría de mis fotos viajeras las he hecho con cámara, no con el celular, este es más difícil de usar sin soporte porque no está hecho para quedarse paradito, en cambio con la cámara, cuando no ha habido nadie alrededor, busco algún objeto que me sirva de trípode para colocarla y le pongo el disparador automático de 10 segundos, es divertido correr a posar y luego ver los resultados 😂, a veces sorprende lo bien que quedan. Pero sí, la sugerencia de tu hermana está buena, ¡a comprar trípode! 😁
Ah si, también uso lo del temporizador pero la mayoría de las veces me salen horribles las fotos jaja. Es que mi celular tiene un problema cuando hay mucho blanco en la imagen, en los días nublados ya saca fotos con un color horrible y todo este viaje en la nieve se enloqueció practicamente jajaja. También sería bueno una cámara nueva, pero bueno, de a poquito 😅

Empatizo totalmente con vos. Algo tan simple como sacar una foto, se puede volver bastante frustrante en un contexto de viajera. Por lo que mostraste, la cámara de adelante no es una opción, baja la calidad y salen un poco quemadas las fotos. Y pedir a desconocidos tampoco, por lo incomodo que es y no da pedirle a un extraño que te saque fotos hasta que salga una buena jaj. Ya que pocas veces sale bien a la primera 😅
