This is the historical writing of the village

Hello travelers!

I want to share with you an excursion I took this weekend. I managed to find some time to dedicate to myself, and luckily, we also had good weather because lately it's been difficult to organize any kind of outing here—it's always raining and quite cold. I don't know where the summer has gone!

This is the road that traders took to carry their goods around

But anyway, I'm generally a positive person! So, after checking the weather forecast, I went with a guy I'm friends with (but nothing more) to Val Brembana in the province of Bergamo. We wanted to take a little mountain hike, to relax and be surrounded by nature.

And these are the houses that were once inhabited and are now practically abandoned

I honestly didn't know the place because I've never been in this area before, but he's from around there, so he knows every part of this valley since he used to come here even as a child.

I have to say, it was a very beautiful experience and somewhat romantic at times. I'm not the kind of girl who goes for luxury; I prefer simple things and being close to nature. We had a nice hike of almost four hours—though I didn't count the kilometers, we must have covered quite a distance because I was quite tired.

I slipped in this place because there were all these slightly wet leaves

He explained to me about an old mule track that was used by traders to transport goods. So besides being a naturalistic place, it also holds cultural and historical significance in the Bergamo tradition.

I think this house had still been used, it would have been very nice to be able to visit it inside

At one point, we took a path that went deep into the woods, and I have to admit I was a bit scared because I heard there are wolves and even bears around here. Fortunately, we didn't encounter these wild creatures, just some small squirrels and field mice.

Along the way, we also came across many abandoned houses—places that were probably once inhabited but are now completely in decay, which is a real shame. As you can see from the photos, the nature is lush green, especially because he told me it has been raining a lot these months, whereas last year it was all dry.

I hope you found the story I shared interesting. I had a wonderful weekend, and even though it was something simple, I enjoyed it a lot, and it was very pleasant. I hope to write again soon. See you!
