The village of Uspenskoye

in Worldmappin10 months ago

Greetings, my friends.
Today I decided to introduce you, friends, not to distant countries and cities, but to the area where I live.
Spring, March 10th. But Winter is still in full force in our region. In the morning, the thermometer showed -18 degrees Celsius. In the afternoon, the sun warmed the air to about -10 degrees. The weather is perfect for walking, so I decided to visit the village of Uspenskoye.

There is no public transport to this village. I decided to park my car at the intersection towards the village and take a walk. In winter, the road is very comfortable in such sunny frosty weather. There is a joke in our area that the best road builder is Grandpa Frost. He makes any dirt road smooth.
I have to walk about one and a half kilometers to the village.

It seems to me that I was in this village last time exactly a year ago, it was the same sunny frosty day.
What is interesting about this village? The most interesting thing for me has always been its location on the banks of the Vyatka River. But that was more than 30 years ago, I often came here for fishing. Now the river bank has changed and I do not fish in the vicinity of this village.
What else do I know about this village? This village is more than 400 years old and once it was a very large village, it occupied the dominant position of the district. But at the end of the last century, due to the lack of a good road, people began to leave here. Currently, no more than 50 people live here on a permanent basis. There are more houses in the village, but people do not live in them permanently, they are used mainly in the summer. But over the past few years, I have noticed that new houses have begun to appear in the village, and people have begun to return to live in the countryside.

Looking at this house, you can understand that this village was once inhabited not by poor people, but by quite rich families.
This is one of the features of the village - the presence of old two-storey brick houses. Most of them are currently in use, but for some reason, no one decided to use this building. The walls of this house are very strong and will stand for more than a dozen years. That's for sure!

The village is located on several hills. The descents and ascents are quite steep. Therefore, I saw that the cars were not parked next to the houses, but in the lower part of the village, in a small parking lot. You also need to take into account that the streets are very narrow and 2 cars will not be able to pass at the same time, especially in winter.

A similar house design can often be found in our area. All such houses were built at the end of the 19th century or at the very beginning of the 20th century. We call these houses pre-revolutionary. After the revolution of 1917, people could no longer build such houses, they simply did not have the necessary finances for this. All people have become equally poor. But I will not go into these details now. But using the example of houses, I can show how people lived.

Such houses have a year of construction in the 20-40 years of the last century. These are the years of Stalin's rule.

This construction of houses usually shows that the house was built after 1960. But even in those years, the size of the house was small.

At the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, some people began to have money and they began to be able to buy large old houses and modernize them. But it must be admitted that for many people this gave rise to anger and envy.

There is a lot of snow this year. And people are also throwing snow off the roofs of old houses. But I have a question - how will they enter this house if they have blocked the front door with snow? So no one will enter it until spring.

Wow, there's a good road to the river. And I decided to go to the river! I haven't been to this part of the river for almost 5 years. I've never been here in winter.

Well, friends, I have shown you a little bit of the Russian features of the village in winter. Maybe I'll show you this village in the summer when the trees are green. But now I'm saying goodbye to you.

All the photos were taken by me on a Nikon D5300 camera.

That's a great place to get out and have a little exercise over the weekend, no wonder Russians are so great at Nordic sports

I like Nordic sports. :)
Our winters are longer and colder than in Nordic. Skiing is very popular with us!

Quaint remote village, looks pretty in photography. Perhaps size ideal for raising families, now more holiday homes during Summer months.

Dog looks so happy on the snow which appears to be fresh, thanks for sharing.

!BEER

😀 I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for the comment!

Breaking through fresh snow looks fun, green house most effective although the wood looks stunning as well.

Hey @apnigrich, here is a little bit of BEER from @joanstewart for you. Enjoy it!

Nice village covered completely with snow. Hope its easy for a new comer or a layman to find his destination to this new place. Sad that no houses are inhabited.

Few people live there all the time.
