So with love to you all from the Green Hills of Kwa-Zulu Natal South Africa. In one of my previous posts on visiting Phe Zulu Safari Park, I mentioned that my dear friend @lizelle and I were so overwhelmed by all the beautiful art and sculptures by the Zulu people in the curio shop, we had taken so many pictures until our phone batteries died on us and we couldn't get to share the lunch part, so I decided to do a continuation of the last post and share the luncheon also some of the remaining art work in the photo collection. I felt I just had to share it all with our Hivian friends.
The Café overlooks The Valley of a Thousand Hills.
It's called the Valley of a Thousand Hills because of the many hills that tumble down to the Umgeni River which flows from the Drakensberg Mountains to the Indian Ocean, the beautiful rolling green hills stretch as far as one's eye can see; hence the name "Green Hills of Kwa-Zulu Natal South Africa"
The menu had a vast choice of traditional Zulu food, from Zulu Queen, Zulu Maiden and Zulu King to various other options; my choice was the Zulu Queen which consisted of beef ribs and chicken nuggets with fried chips
The food was very tasty and definitely fit for a queen and her Maiden which happened to be Lizelle's choice Lol! we had such fun that day, chatting and laughing, clicking our cameras until it decided to switch off (to our dismay) ☹️
Plate of food fit for a Zulu King, (guess what the men had 😁) The Zulu peoples diet consists of maize and vegetables and a lot of meat, I battled to finish my meal being more of a vegetable lover than meat, it was very tasty though; had to go on a veggie fast for a few days after that, hee! hee!
A Zulu Hut
On certain days the Zulu's in the reserve give a display of their traditional dancing and music. It is really something to experience, the drums are just awesome, gives one goose bumps.
If one visits the farm areas around KwaZulu Natal, one would see these huts which they live in, still today.
The entrance to the Café and curio shop
I don't have to tell you what this building is now do I? very colorfully done don't you think?
A Zulu warrior showing the way to the Restaurant which was still closed when we arrived, one can buy crocodile steaks, there is a crocodile farm on the reserve.
Omg....no thanks, no crocodile meat for me, some people like it, I certainly will pass that one by thank you very much lol!
Cannot imagine eating a reptile... Yikes!!

One could embark on a day of wildlife sightings with a mini safari tour, and experience the Zulu culture and reptile park.
Zulu guards out side the entrance
One could sit inside or outside the Café
Some of the art work of the Zulu people on display.
Beautiful colorful paintings on fabric, I just love these, so happy and vibrant.
Masks are very sacred to the Zulu people, they all have different spiritual and religious meaning, some to bring good luck others to ward off evil and many more other beliefs.

Another beautiful piece of art work carved in wood.
Painting of a typical Zulu Village
Well!...that was our luncheon at the Safari Park Nguni Café in a Valley of a Thousand Hills, a lovely day we had with our beautiful friends.
I hope you enjoyed coming along with us as much as we did.
Have a fantastic day

PheZulu certainly was a lovely surprise! We'd always driven past it thinking it will be too commercialized. How wrong was I, it was just awesome and those views were breathtaking!
It's always fun going anywhere with you guys:)
