YOGYAKARTA (1).jpg

One of the cities where there are many interesting stories, namely the city of Yogyakarta. It is said that this area used to be the richest in Indonesia. During the colonial era, during the economic crisis, Indonesia was supported by this kingdom to be independent. Until now, this city has been given a different nickname, 'Special City'.

Why is it special? I used to only think that the specialness was having a lot of money and a rich area, but it turns out, I just realized one thing. I also realized it when I was traveling to the Yogyakarta area.

After the city of Malang, a trip to Bromo and its surroundings, I continue my journey around the island of Java and stop by the city of Yogyakarta. At that time what I wanted was to travel and look for a museum. Did you know that this city has many historical museums that are very well maintained by the Yogyakarta palace kingdom.

The Yogyakarta area does have a governor, but, the governor is just a label, because the governor is actually the king of the Yogyakarta palace who serves. Here, in the city of Yogyakarta, it is still very special with its traditional customs that are very well maintained by the kingdom. Not much has changed, unlike other cities that are made to be more modern and adapt to the times, the city of Yogyakarta was created and maintained until now in order to maintain tradition.

This is one of the perspectives of the city center of Yogyakarta. I am on the most famous Malioboro street and it is impossible for people not to stop here when they are in Yogyakarta. The street that is the center of art, shopping and social society of Yogyakarta.

From Malioboro Street, not far from the royal palace of the Yogyakarta palace. Just turn a few corners and you will find the palace where the king of the palace lives with his entire family. On Malioboro Street, this is the tourist center. So, if you are travel to Yogyakarta, it is a good idea to take a hotel that is close to Malioboro Street so that you are close to everywhere without having to spend money on transportation. Walking is highly recommended, especially to enjoy the vibes from afternoon to evening in the city of Yogyakarta. You can see what are the habits of the people of Yogyakarta.

Very close to the Sonobudoyo Museum, which is a museum that presents items from the kingdom from the past to the present that are worthy of consumption and information to the public. Like seeing whatever the king and his family wear, it is very close to the kingdom and we also know what the palace kingdom uses.

I can even see the transportation used by the community in everyday life, it can also be rented by other tourists. I also tried riding a pedicab that they use to get around the city. I paid 2 dollars for it and got an unforgettable experience.

At that time the weather in Yogyakarta was so good and friendly. I really like the city of Yogyakarta which in all its places is thick with customs and traditions that I will not find in any city on the island of Java. Although unfortunately in the afternoon I could not enter the museum, I will come tomorrow morning.

See you the next time hive friends!

You are very welcome @aswita! it was well deserved. ☀️

Walking through such a place must feel like stepping back in time, allowing visitors to connect with the past in a truly unique way. The beauty and significance of these historical landmarks make them not just sights to admire but also invaluable pieces of history to be preserved and appreciated.

what you said is true. I was attracted to Yogyakarta because of the different traditions and instilling them in every aspect of life. that's what makes them so unique.

An interesting place, those are historical structures.

of course :D

I can't even spot any trash on those photos, very clean and organized. Such a lovely big city. And that mode of transportation, the one you're riding is super unique. Looks like a good vehicle to move into places.

One thing I like is that this area really maintains cleanliness and that is hard for Indonesians to do :D

Same here in our country, although there's a street weepers, but the people, hah, the people is the problem 😫

Yogyakarta looks like such a fascinating place to visit! I love how the city has kept its traditions alive while still being a major tourist hub. The pedicab ride sounds like a fun way to explore! Looking forward to reading more about your adventures—hope you got to visit the museum!

They maintain traditional values in all aspects of life, making this area truly special.
