Hello to all travelers of this amazing community,
This is my first post here and I am not a professional traveler. But I really want to share my experiences of traveling alone to remote islands located in southern-central Vietnam.
My trip visiting Binh Hung - Binh Ba Islands of Khanh Hoa province without my bff Alex in 2015 before I left my country for new adventures to foreign lands. Luckily I made a lot of friends on this trip. All photos were captured by my iphone 5.
I started this trip from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) by an overnight bus to Vinh Hy town. The bus trip took around 6.5 hours. Then I joined a boat from Bai Kinh shore to secluded Binh Hung Island.
Arrived at remote Binh Hung Island by boat
There was no hotels at the time I visited, so I had to call my friend to ask about a reliable homestay that I could stay. I found one very nice with a friendly host. One thing surprised me is the houses in the island more beautiful than urban houses in Saigon 😂.
Homestay in Binh Hung Island
I met a group of backpackers at the homestay and I joined them. No more lone traveler from this moment. We shared the rent of the small boat to visit beaches and small islets nearby on my second day.
First day of my trip, A new friend from the group and I rent a motorcycle-taxi from the homestay 10 minutes to Hon Chut Lighthouse. The cost was 01 USD per person per way.
The beaches as well as the flowers on the walking path up to lighthouse were super clear and gorgeous!
It was difficult for me as a vegan traveler and I could not enjoy the fresh seafood with my new friends. So all I ate to survive this trip were stir-fried veggies with steamed rices from the homestay. We had a fun night at homestay with singing and telling stories until mid night.
The second day, in the early morning, the shared boat brought us an untouched Bai Chuoi Beach. We had a very good time swimming there. No human living on this very small islet. It was a pity for me that I could not dive to admire the beautiful alive coral very near this beach.
Then we left Bai Chuoi Beach at noon for a stop at visiting Binh Ba Island and Ngoc Suong Resort, which was filmed in a Vietnamese movie.
After visiting Binh Ba, our boat sailed back to Bai Kinh Shore and from there, I said good bye to my fellow travelers and took bus back home.
This trip was very nice and really an escape from my bustling life. Thank you for enjoying my trip photos 😃.
Have a nice weekend.
It's a pity you couldn't try the fresh seafy, but looks like you still had a great time
Thank you, yes I had a great time there although vegetable from the island was more expensive than regular fish 😅.
Love this view. By the way, fish caught are my favorites.
Thank you :)
You're welcome (^_^)
