Hello friends of Pinmapple, I hope you are excellently well! today I'm going to tell you a little about a destination that I've been to recently, as I told you before, I've made a trip to the province of Mendoza with a group of friends! We contracted the trip with a company that took us to carry out some typical activities of the province, and something too typical of the province of Mendoza are the vineyards. In this province they have many vineyards, since the production and export of wine is almost 80% of the country's total! in this case they took us to see the Labiano winery.
Hola amigos de Pinmapple, espero se encuentren excelentemente bien! hoy voy a contarles un poco sobre un destino que he conocido ultimamente, como les dije anteriormente he hecho un viaje a la pronvicia de Mendoza con un grupo de amigas! contratamos el viaje con una empresa que nos llevó a realizar algunas actividades tipicas de la pronvicia, y algo demasiado tipico de la provincia de Mendoza son los viñedos. En ésta provincia tienen muchisimos viñedos, ya que la produccion y exportacion de vino es del casi 80% del total del pais! en éste caso nos llevaron a conocer la bodega Labiano.
We arrived at the winery at approximately 9 am, after traveling all night, and they were waiting for us with breakfast, which consisted of coffee with milk, country bread toast with butter, cream cheese and cayote jam. While we were there for a long time we learned some of the typical expressions of that province, the one that caught our attention the most was the expression "sopaipilla" for the famous fried cake! I find it incredible how in the same country we call things by different names.
Arribamos a la bodega aproximadamente 9 am, luego de estar toda la noche viajando, y nos estaban esperando con el desayuno que consistió en café con leche con tostadas de pan de campo con manteca, queso crema y mermelada de cayote. Mientras estuvimos un largo rato ahi aprendimos algunas de las expresiones tipicas de esa provincia, la que mas se llevó nuestra atencion fue la expresion "sopaipilla" para las famosas torta fritas! me parece increible como en un mismo pais llamamos a las cosas por diferentes nombres.
After breakfast we went out to the patio and saw a fountain with wine! no, lie, that's what we thought, but then they told us that it's not wine, it's just water with coloring. More than one will have jumped headfirst believing it was wine haha. In addition, we saw some small trees that were for sale and that I was thinking too much about buying one, but they were not going to survive the trip to Buenos Aires.
Luego del desayuno salimos al patio y vimos una fuente con vino! no, mentira, eso creiamos, pero luego nos comentaron que no es vino, solo es agua con colorante. Mas de uno se habrá tirado de cabeza creyendo que era vino jaja. Ademas, vimos unos pequeños arbolitos que estaban a la venta y que estuve pensando demasiado si comprar uno, pero no iban a sobrevivir al viaje hasta Buenos Aires.
We spent a couple of minutes in the patio chatting until they told us that we should go to the meeting point because the guided tour would begin.
Estuvimos un par de minutos en el patio charlando hasta que nos anunciaron que debiamos dirigirnos al punto de reunion porque comenzaria la visita guiada
Well friends, I would like to be more detailed about what they told us in the talk for the reality is that it was too much information! And that's a good thing, since they detailed a lot about the production of the wine, about the history of the owners and founders, and they told us a lot about the export. Some information that I can give you is that the talk lasts an hour, and it is a tour of the entire factory, warehouses and we even saw an art sector. Of course, that sector of the winery was prepared only for tours, the wine is really prepared in another sector. So we could see and touch all the machines while the guide told us what they worked for.
Bueno amigos, quisiera ser mas detallista sobre lo que nos contaron en la charla para la realidad es que fue demasiada informacion! y eso es algo bueno, ya que detallaron mucho sobre la produccion del vino, sobre la historia de los dueños y fundadores, y nos hablaron bastante sobre la exportacion. Algo de informacion que puedo darles es que la charla dura una hora, y es un recorrido por toda la fabrica, bodegas e incluso vimos un sector de arte. Por supuesto que ese sector de la bodega estaba preparado unicamente para los recorridos, el vino realmente se prepara en otro sector. Asi que pudimos ver y tocar todas las maquinas mientras el guia nos contaba para que funcionaban.
The super interesting thing came later, when they told us that we were going to taste the wines! It was very early in the morning, but they made sure to feed us beforehand so that the wine wouldn't spoil us. We tried different vintages, some with notes of oak, some sweet, more bitter, grape, rosé, late harvest, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and malbec. As there were 6 of us, we agreed to order a different one each and try all of them.
Lo super interesante llegó despues, cuando nos comentaron que ibamos a degustar los vinos! era muy temprano por la mañana, pero se aseguraron de darnos de comer antes para que no nos caiga mal el vino. Probamos diferentes cosechas, algunos con notas de roble, algunos dulces, mas amargos, de uva, rosé, cosecha tardia, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, y malbec. Como nosotras eramos 6 nos pusimos de acuerdo para pedir cada una uno distinto y probar todos.
Honestly, wine is not my drink, but it is my friends', so I just followed their opinions haha. After mixing the drinks at the end of the tasting I felt a bit dizzy, so I can assure you that they were delicious and on top of that they fulfilled their duty to make you happy haha.
Honestamente el vino no es mi bebida, pero si la de mis amigas asi que yo me limité a seguir sus opiniones jaja. Despues de mezclar las copas al finalizar la degustacion me sentia un poco mareada, asi que puedo asegurar que eran deliciosos y encima cumplian con su deber de ponerte alegre jaja.
After the tasting they told us that they would give us a discount if we bought the boxes of 6 wines, you could mix the wines you wanted as long as you had a full box. I don't drink wine but my grandfather does, and the visit to the vineyard was on his birthday! so since I couldn't be present at his party I bought him two malbec wines with notes of oak. And so ended our visit to the Labiano winery. The purpose of this post is to tell you about the place, and my verdict is that you should visit it. The visit was very entertaining, the wine is of good quality, the facilities are beautiful. And visits to the vineyards is an activity that you are obliged to do if you visit Mendoza, so I recommend that you visit this winery!
Luego de la degustacion nos comentaron que nos realizarian un descuento si comprabamos las cajas de 6 vinos, podias mezclar los vinos que quisieras siempre y cuando lleves una caja completa. Yo no tomo vino pero mi abuelo si, y justo la visita al viñedo fue el dia de su cumpleaños! asi que como no pude estar presente en su fiesta le compré dos vinos malbec con notas de roble. Y asi finalizó nuestra visita a la bodega Labiano. La finalidad de éste post es comentarles sobre el lugar, y mi veredicto es que debes visitarlo. La visita fue muy entretenida, el vino es de buena calidad, las instalaciones son bellisimas. Y las visitas a los videños es una actividad que estas obligado a hacer si visitas Mendoza, asi que recomiendo que visites esta bodega!
