I will be sharing here another travel blog that you might be interested in adding to your travel bucket list. It was a few months ago when my husband and I decided to have a short trip vacation at Santa Fe, Bantayan. Literally, it was my first time to visit Camp Sawi, and even before, I really wanted to visit this place because I’ve seen a lot of posts from my friends on Facebook about this certain place.
Camp Sawi is located within the Omagieca Obo-ob Mangrove Garden on Bantayan Island, Cebu. As they say, this place is a haven for those who are brokenhearted, from the name of the place, "Sawi,” which means “failure or loss." The place is trying to come up with an idea to be a safe place or a comfort place for someone who visits. Well, I can say that it was indeed a good place to unwind and relax since all you can see is the beauty of nature.
What to expect?
The place is surrounded by mangroves, and they built a passageway that is made of bamboo. What I love about the place is that you can see a few signages made of wood that will guide you all throughout the trail, and there were also signs around the plants with their scientific names. And to add more, they also have cottages and chairs made of bamboo and wood where you can relax if you get tired from walking; it also gives you shade from the heat of the sun. Well, for me, the mangroves are the highlight of the place because it gives a fresh view of the place. The place is giving off a tribal atmosphere. The time when we visited the place was low tide, so I think it would be better to visit during high tide.

They will open at 8AM – 5PM daily
Entrance Fee: 75.00
Kayaking: 150/head per hour
Boating: 350/trip (5pax)
The two of us really enjoyed looking around and walking at the trail. We even made fun of each other while taking pictures because we sometimes look silly. And as a dream catcher fan, I never missed a chance to take a picture of this big dream catcher on my background. I’m a little childish inside you know, I once believed about a dream catcher, believing it to casts out the bad dreams every night when I’m asleep.
Travel is Life
This tagline was already painted in the minds of those who deeply love traveling. This reminds me to take a short break in life once in a while. Well, why not, right? It simply means to be more free, free from the busy minds, free from frustrations, and free from anything. And traveling doesn’t mean to be expensive; you may visit somewhere like a mountain or a sea. Sat down and do nothing, and it will eventually heal your inner soul.It doesn’t costs a lot making a life for sometimes and you got to believe to make it happen.
If you were to ask me if I’m going to recommend this place? My answer would be yes. Camp Sawi is not really an extraordinary place, but somehow it is something that you visit just to appreciate the view and surroundings. After all, it is entirely about the passion of travel, like immersing ourselves in the life around the world.
This one-day journey at Camp Sawi marks another fulfilled experience that I will treasure forever. It is still a long way ahead, just like these mangroves, who stand firm with a purpose. Adding to that, I will never get tired traveling with my travel buddy, my husband.
