Good day, my dear Hivers!
@itsmemic once again!
For now, let me share with you the continuation of my previous blog, which is about our visit to the Simala Shrine to pay our respects to Mama Mary in Lindogon. I always love coming here because every time we visit, I feel light and at peace. It feels so good, especially when I get to see the statue of Mama Mary of Lindogon up close and in person.
We actually visited last October, and now, this is our first visit of the year—hopefully, there will be more to come!
We arrived at around 8:30 AM, and there were already a lot of people lining up outside to kiss the glass near Mama Mary’s statue. However, we didn’t line up right away because we planned to attend mass first.
We brought with us the statue of Mama Mary that we purchased last year, and since it was quite heavy, we took turns carrying it. In fact, we brought two statues—one was just the right size and not too heavy.
As we entered, the first thing we saw was a tarpaulin displaying Mama Mary’s exact birthdate.
The view was absolutely breathtaking! The shrine looks like a Disney-like castle, and when you look around, the trees perfectly complement the entire design.
As I climbed the stairs, my sister took a few pictures of me—here they are!
Of course, my younger brother didn’t want to be left out, so he took some pictures too.
Here are some of the designs in the shrine, which look very historical and beautiful.
Since I mentioned earlier that we were going to attend mass, we finally made it to the prayer area.
Beside it is another statue of Mama Mary stood, surrounded by lots of flowers. Then, I realized, “Oh, these must be the flowers being sold outside.”
After praying, we attended mass. This particular mass was unusual because it started at 9 AM and ended around 1 PM. We didn’t even notice that it was already afternoon since we were so focused on the service. During the mass, I felt incredibly light and at peace.
After the mass, we bought candles and lit them at the prayer area. As you can see, there were many candles in different colors.
Once we were done, we headed outside.
Before leaving the place, my mom bought peanuts—her favorite snack!
And after that, we drove home.
That's all, my dear Hivers! Thank you for reading!
