VISITING THE PUNTA BALLENA LIGHTHOUSE [Spn/Eng]

in Worldmappin2 days ago (edited)

Happy and blessed Carnival Tuesday, as you know, I live on Margarita Island and in our free time we go out and visit many places that are wonderful and, as I tell my family, we live in a paradise that many would like to know, so why not go out and enjoy it? This time we left very early in the morning so that the day would yield us. One of the stops we made was to visit the Punta Ballena Lighthouse, located in the hills of Pampatar, town of La Sal, in the municipality of Maneiro.

This place is spectacular, since we can contemplate the sea and breathe the aroma of it. Admission is free and can be a guided tour or on your own account; in this case we did it on our own. According to data found in the visit to the lighthouse, it was built in August 2007, being the main function of improving maritime safety and keeping Venezuela's signaling and maritime navigation systems updated.
The Punta Ballenas lighthouse rises to 28 meters and can be seen from miles away. This lighthouse remains lit between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am.
Starting to climb the lighthouse, we can see a space for the sale of souvenirs and thus take souvenirs of the lighthouse and Margarita Island such as keychains, magnets, bags, caps, among other little things. Then we begin to climb the spiral staircase to the top of the lantern.

In the course we were going up there were small doors where you can go out to see part of the landscape. Each door had its names the first was Fortín Santiago de la Caranta, the next door Las Salinas de Pampatar, the third door Church of Christ of the good trip, a fourth with the name of the Cave of the Buffoon, in the same way you can see on the walls pictures where you can contemplate the images of its history,

On the next level, after the souvenir shop, is the Hydrographic Museum, where you can see everything related to its history and function.

Upon reaching the Cima we could contemplate the impressive panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea and the surrounding landscape of the Salinas de Pampatar and the city of Pampatar.

Already one of the things I liked most about the view of the Lighthouse, it is its 360º view from the top.

You can see up to the Los Frailes Archipelago, which is located 10 nautical miles from Margarita Island. Just the view makes the visit to the lighthouse worthwhile. Working hours are every day from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the best thing is that their access is free.

In general, the Punta Ballenas Lighthouse is an attraction of the Margarita Island that offers those who visit it part of its history and the culture of the island. This Punta Ballenas Lighthouse is part of the Margarita culture, an ideal destination that must be visited. If you are from here or come to Margarita, you must come and enjoy this tourist spot that offers the Island.

Abrazos

This Lighthouse is more like a big museum and a place to catch some beautiful moments of water. Your pictures and post reminded me of A novel by Virginia Woolf "To the Lighthouse". There was a character James who wanted to visit Lighthouse. We'll, same like James I also want to visit Lighthouse one day 😀

I'm glad you liked it and that you liked the post, I already went and checked the novel and I could read that Time magazine included the novel in its list of 100 best novels in English and that the Modern Library considered it one of the best novels in English of the twentieth century.

So I must and I have the need to read Thank you for your comment
