Nobody likes having to return from a nice trip like the one we were doing in the summer, but unfortunately it is necessary to resume daily responsibilities and commitments. This tour was one of the most beautiful I did because we saw a lot of great places and it allowed me to continue learning about the geography of my country. After having learned a little more about Junín de Los Andes, the volcano and the Chimehuín river, we began our return, starting from Neuquén, where more great landscapes awaited us ❤️.
A nadie le gusta tener que regresar de un lindo viaje como el que estuvimos haciendo en el verano, pero lamentablemente es necesario retomar las responsabilidades y compromisos diarios. Este paseo fue uno de los más hermosos que hice porque vimos un montón de lugares geniales y me permitió seguir aprendiendo de la geografía de mi país. Después de haber conocido un poco más sobre Junín de Los Andes, el volcán y el río Chimehuín, emprendimos el regreso propiamente dicho, partiendo desde Neuquén donde otros paisajes geniales nos esperaban ❤️.
The good thing about the routes of Patagonia is that the landscapes do not boring you during the trip. It's all mountains here and there, so you can always enjoy looking at beautiful places. We had already agreed to make the trip in sections that would not last more than two hours at a time without stopping: we were still more than 1,500 km from home but better than arriving quickly is arriving safely, so every now and then we stopped to rest a bit and stretch our legs 😃.
Lo bueno que tienen las rutas de la patagonia es que los paisajes no te cansan durante el viaje. Todo es montañas por aquí y por allá, así que siempre podes disfrutar mirando lugares hermosos. Ya habíamos acordado hacer el viaje en tramos que no duraran más de dos horas seguidas sin parar: aún estábamos a más de 1500 km de casa pero mejor que llegar rápido es llegar seguros así que cada tanto frenabamos a descansar un poco y estirar las piernas 😀.
When one of the scheduled sections was about to be completed, we began to see signs indicating that we were close to Villa El Chocón. I remember that my cousin told me "can we go in here?" and I had about 5 seconds to decide, so I said yes and off we went. None of us knew what was here, but what better way to investigate it in real time 😅.
Cuando se estaba por cumplir uno de los tramos pautados, empezamos a ver carteles que señalaban que estábamos cerca de Villa El Chocón. Me acuerdo que mi primo me dijo "¿entramos acá?" y yo tuve unos 5 segundos para decidir, así que dije que sí y fuimos. Ninguno de nosotros sabíamos qué había ahí, pero que mejor que investigarlo en tiempo real 😅.
After passing through a small town, the first thing we saw was an incredible mirror of turquoise water. It looked like it was painted on purpose because it created a great contrast to the rocky landscape in the background. We got wonderful views from where we were, and using our free time to do some research on the Internet, it turned out that it was a reservoir of the Limay River 💛.
Luego de atravesar un pequeño poblado, lo primero que vimos fue un increíble espejo de agua turquesa. Parecía que estaba pintada a propósito porque se generaba un contraste genial con el paisaje rocoso del fondo. Obtuvimos unas vistas maravillosas desde donde estábamos, y, usando el tiempo libre para investigar un poco en Internet, resultó que se trataba de un embalse del río Limay 💛.
It was not the first reservoir we saw on our trip: all of Patagonia is an arid zone where this resource of using water for energy is very common. Along the way, a landscape is created that attracts visitors and encourages tourism. Well, we got there by chance but it sure is a good destination to vacation and rest a bit 😅.
No fue el primer embalse que vimos en nuestro viaje: toda la patagonia es una zona árida en donde este recurso de aprovechamiento de agua para obtener energía es muy común. De paso, se origina un paisaje que atrae visitantes y fomenta el turismo. Bueno, nosotros llegamos allí de casualidad pero seguro que es un buen destino para vacacionar y descansar un poco 💛.
This place has some spas for public use, a lighthouse and beyond, a small tourist center where you can eat and stay. Apparently, on the other side of the dam was the most "vip" part, since luxury buildings and yachts were seen. Each one will decide which side to go according to their possibilities 😂.
Este lugar cuenta con unos balnearios de uso público, un faro y más allá, un pequeño centro turístico donde comer y alojarse. Aparentemente, del otro lado de la represa estaba la parte más "vip", ya que se veían construcciones de lujo y yates. Cada quién decidirá de qué lado ir de acuerdo a sus posibilidades 😂.
On our walk around the surroundings we came across a nice dinosaur adorning the landscape. This whole area of the province of Neuquén is famous for its paleontological finds, so we saw several posters advertising this. And of course, we take some postcards with this new friend ❤️.
En nuestro paseo por los alrededores nos encontramos con un simpático dinosaurio adornando el paisaje. Toda esta zona de la provincia de Neuquén es famosa por sus hallazgos paleontológicos, así que vimos varios carteles que hacían publicidad a esto. Y por supuesto, nos llevamos unas postales con este nuevo amigo ❤️.
After spending about an hour there, we continue the route to find something to eat. It's funny to me because we don't really invest much in researching the local gastronomy of the places we visit, so we mostly eat simple food and/or gas station food. And this was no exception 😅.
Después de estar alrededor de una hora por allí, continuamos la ruta para encontrar algo para comer. Me causa gracia porque realmente no invertimos mucho en investigar la gastronomía local de los lugares que visitamos, así que mayormente comemos comidas sencillas y/o de estaciones de servicio. Y esta no fue la excepción 😅.
Having visited this part of Neuquén was unexpected but worth it. Sometimes it's good to improvise and explore new places that maybe I hadn't even heard of (because I really hadn't even heard of El Chocón). Maybe we missed seeing a real dinosaur, but the one we did see was enough ❤️.
Haber visitado esta parte de Neuquén fue inesperado pero valió la pena. A veces está bueno improvisar y explorar nuevos lugares que quizás ni siquiera había escuchado (porque en verdad ni siquiera había escuchado sobre El Chocón). Quizás nos faltó ver un dinosaurio real, pero con el que vimos tuve suficiente ❤️.
