When we were finally able to rest in the hotel properly, we recharged our energies for a new day full of walks and landscapes to discover. We got up very early, around 5 AM: if we wanted to go to the most beautiful areas we had to travel long distances on the route and that is what we did. After almost two hours of leaving the hotel, we arrived at the beautiful town of Tilcara in the province of Jujuy 💕.
Cuando finalmente fuimos capaces de descansar en el hotel como correspondía, recargamos nuestras energías para un nuevo día lleno de paseos y paisajes por descubirir. Nos levantamos muy temprano, cerca de las 5 AM: si queríamos ir a las zonas más lindas debíamos recorrer largos trayectos en la ruta y eso fue lo que hicimos. Después de casi dos horas de haber salido del hotel llegamos al lindo pueblo de Tilcara en la provincia de Jujuy 💕.
The good thing about this area of northern Argentina is that the provinces are small so it is easy to go from one to the other. Our hotel was located in the province of Salta and later that morning we were already in the province of Jujuy. During our tour we were able to see the orange and mountainous ranges that characterize these provinces. I must say that I was excited seeing this because it meant to be materializing the trip that I wanted to do since last year ❤️.
Lo bueno que tiene esta área del norte de Argentina es que las provincias son pequeñas por lo que es sencillo pasar de una a la otra. Nuestro hotel estaba ubicado en la provincia de Salta y más tarde en la misma mañana ya estábamos en la provincia de Jujuy. Durante nuestro recorrido pudimos ver los cordones montañosos y anaranjados que caracterizan estas provincias. Debo decir que me emocioné viendo esto porque significó estar materializando el viaje que quería hacer desde el año pasado ❤️.
When we arrive at the town of Tilcara, we find a picturesque place surrounded by mountains. This town is small but it has several things to see: a few blocks are enough to show an interesting place.
Cuando llegamos al pueblo de Tilcara, nos encontramos con un lugar pintoresco rodeado de montañas. Este pueblo es pequeño pero tiene varias cosas para ver: pocas cuadras son suficientes para mostrar un lugar interesante.

This place preserves its structure of low houses but with several businesses and restaurants to receive tourists. Like us, there were several contingents of travelers who made their stop there to get to know this area, which is one of the main destinations in Jujuy.
Este lugar conserva su estructura de casas bajas pero con varios negocios y restaurants para recibir a los turistas. Al igual que nosotros, habían varios contingentes de viajeros que hacen su parada allí para conocer esta área que es uno de los principales destinos de Jujuy.

You know, in all my social networks I follow tourism pages that 24/7 promote every corner of my country. One of the postcards that they show when they report on the north is this: the typical tortilla filled with the mountains in the background. When we got off the bus, the first thing my partner and I did was spot a stall of stuffed tortillas and we immediately bought one each 😂. This tortilla is a dough of flour and fat, filled with corn and cheese, but there was also the option of filling with ham and cheese or tomato and basil. It was really delicious, I really enjoyed it ❤️.
Saben, en todas mis redes sociales sigo páginas de turismo que 24/7 promocionan cada rincón de mi país. Una de las postales que muestran cuando informan sobre el norte es esta: la típica tortilla rellena con las montañas de fondo. Cuando bajamos del micro lo primero que hicimos mi compañera y yo fue divisar un puesto de tortillas rellenas e inmediatamente nos compramos una cada una 😂. Esta tortilla es una masa de harina y grasa, rellena con choclo y queso, pero también estaba la opción de relleno con jamón y queso o tomate y albahaca. Era realmente deliciosa, la disfruté mucho ❤️.

While we were eating, we went for a walk around the place until we reached the main square. There was music and a local crafts fair there. There were not so many people at that time because it was like 8 or 9 in the morning: this allowed us to go around the place without being all crowded together 😂.
Mientras íbamos comiendo, salimos a caminar un poco por el lugar hasta llegar a la plaza principal. Allí había música y una feria de artesanías locales. No había tanta gente en ese momento porque eran como las 8 o 9 de la mañana: esto nos permitió recorrer el lugar sin estar todos amontonados 😂.

The products sold at the northern fairs are mainly handmade ceramic tableware, blankets with the typical pattern and colorful ponchos. My partner bought a coat, although she will probably keep it until winter because it was very hot there even though it was not summer yet.
Los productos que venden en las ferias del norte son principalmente vajilla de cerámica artesanal, mantas con el estampado típico y ponchos coloridos. Mi compañera se compró un abrigo, aunque seguramente lo guarde hasta el invierno porque allí hacia mucho calor a pesar de que aún no era verano.

We spent a nice morning there, eating a stuffed omelette and drinking mates. We take the opportunity to stretch our legs and get some air before heading back to the bus. This little town is one of the many that we visited throughout this tour: it was great to get to know another type of landscape, completely different from the one we see every day in the city. My Argentina is so big and it has so many cultures and places to visit, I am happy to have the possibility to do it ❤️.
Pasamos una linda mañana allí, comiendo tortilla rellena y tomando mates. Aprovechamos para estirar las piernas y tomar un poco de aire antes de volver al micro. Este pueblito es uno de los tantos que visitamos durante todo este paseo: fue genial conocer otro tipo de paisaje, completamente diferente al que vemos a diario en la ciudad. Mi Argentina es tan grande y tiene tantas culturas y lugares para conocer, estoy feliz de tener la posibilidad de hacerlo ❤️.
